Tiffani:I have to say that I've read my fair share of books in my life time but this one is a first! Laura definitely has the gift of story telling with the way she describes everything. She really makes you feel like you were witnessing every word first hand.Ever wonder what it would be like for a teenager to come to terms with the fact that she's a witch when every fiber of her being doesn't want to accept it? Destiny brings you to that place with that teenager. It takes you over the journey that she goes through in having to learn to accept what and who she is and the struggles that come with that. As the story is woven, you come to love the characters of Gabby, Darron, and their friends. The book keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting more from the first paragraph through the very end.I am so glad that I found Laura, she's one of my favorite authors now! Stephie:I am a book junkie, and reading this book started out no different. Laura is a friend on Facebook, and I had offered to read anything she had basically! LOL Where to start on how GREAT this book is! From page one, I couldn't put it down. It captivated me and transported me straight into the heart of Gabby's world. Being a teenager is difficult enough, try finding out how to deal when your whole life is turned upside down by finding out your true identity!Laura's writing is spellbinding to say the least. The ease with which she uses to portray her characters is nothing short of amazing. Easy to read, hard to put down, this book really left me wanting so much more! It's easy to read a book that's mediocre, it's a blessing to read a book that's as amazingly written as this! I will definitely keep Laura on my list of favorites in the author category, and hope that you do the same! Below are the links to the Kindle format on Amazon, and her fan page on FaceBook! I encourage all who read this to search her out, you won't be sorry!!!!

Destiny is a wonderful read. Ms. DeLuca does a wonderful job describing each character and their surroundings. There were times where it was so real that I honestly felt like I was there. The characters were great. They all had their own special purpose in the book and they came together beautifully.Gabriella’s (Gabby) mother was murdered when she was just a little girl. Gabby knows that she is special, but is in denial and doesn’t want to realize who she really is. Darron, a witch and a close friend of Gabby, is told by Gabby’s mother (a spirit) that Gabby needs to accept who she really is because her life is depending on it. So Darron goes through extreme lengths to help Gabby and protect her against Richard, an evil Warlock that is after her and Darron. You see Richard knows that Gabby and Darron are powerful witches and wants them to join his coven and will do anything to have them even if it means killing people who Darron and Gabby know and are close to. The ending was pretty good and leads to believe that there might be a second book. I can’t wait!! The book was pretty fast paced and had my attention the whole time. Destiny gets really into Wicca and talks about and describes many of their rituals and their beliefs. This is a great read and I recommend it to anyone that is really into Wicca or anyone that just likes books that have to do with witches. Great book I totally recommend it!review link: http://www.onceuponatwilight.com/2011...

Gabriella ( Gabby) is trying to be an average teenage girl. Her mother died when she was young, and her father is an alcoholic. Gabriella begins having odd dreams. She knows she is different but her memory blocks her from her true Destiny of a witch.Darron is in love with Gabriella. He wants to protect her at all costs and is drawn to Gabby. Darron spends his time trying to keep his powers under control and somewhat hidden in fear of scaring off Gabby.Darron begins having strange dreams where he meets a evil warlock warning him to stay away from the woman in his dreams. He ignores the warnings and finds himself communicating with Gabriella's dead mother. Darron finds his true destiny is to help Gabby find her powers as a witch and stop denying her destiny.Richard is a powerful evil warlock. He wants Gabriella to join his coven and use her powers for evil. Richard will stop at nothing to get what he wants; innocent bloodshed is just a game. I don't know much about Wicca religions but I found the rituals used were very curious and true to the culture. Destiny is a story of self journey and discovery. I feel that Laura DeLuca was very good at describing each character and their involvement in the story. I also loved how each page flowed together leaving you with a sense of suspense and curiosity. The ending is great and leads you to another story.

Gabriella, whose mother was murdered, must embrace her magick that she feared in order to save herself and her friends' lives. Along comes Darron, another witch, who has been in love with Gabriella for as long as he can remember. They need to get together and combine what they know in order to fight whatever is keeping them from completely opening themselves up to each other and the magick within. Battles are many, lives are lost, and tears are shed. I thought the characters had lots of... character! I could see myself being like Gabriella, afraid of the power but knowing I have to embrace it. Eventually, all you need is love. Love conquers all.

The story is about Gabriella. It is a story of love, friendship, religion, triumph, believing, and good versus evil. Always remember kids, good always wins over evil.Gabriella is in high school, she wants to be like everyone else but she isn't. She is very different. Her mother was murdered when she was a little girl and she lives with her alcoholic father. Gabby, as everyone calls her is special, but doesn't realize the full extent of her abilities.Gabby's mother was murdered when she was just a little girl. Gabby knows that she is special, but is in denial and doesn’t want to realize who she really is.Darron is a friend of her from school that she is set up with for a class project. He is a witch with his own set of powers. When he is visited by Gabby's spirit mother, she tells him that she and her friends were murdered by an evil warlock named Richard and that he is coming after Gabby because of her powers. She tells him to force Gabriella to know what she is, because she needs to be ready to fight him.Richard will do whatever he can to get Gabby and Darron to join his coven and he is not against killing innocent people Darron and Gabby love.Gabby and her friends, team up with Darron to overpower Richard and hopefully save everyone too. The ending is intense and leaves me to believe there may be a sequel. One can only hope.Laura is a wonderful author who created a story that will be enjoyed by book lovers of all ages. She keeps the action moving, creates characters that are likable and the story enjoyable. As we approach the ending, it is like coming to the end of a roller coaster ride. All ups and downs, fast turns, and then peace and quiet, with the wind in your hair as your body comes down from the thrill.Highly recommend. Great Summer read for ages 14+

Lisa's review ofDestinyBy Laura DeLucaI was given a copy of Destiny by Laura DeLuca in exchange for an honest review.  I absolutely loved this wonderful story.   The cover of this book was absolutely beautiful and the white rose was deplicted in the story. It was well developed and fast paced.  Laura took her time in creating each and everyone of her characters.  The characters of Gabriella, Darron, Flora, Shelly and Monte were so intense that you were able to feel their emotions and couldn't help but love them.  Gabriella is still living with the ghost and tragedy of the death of her mother.  Although it happened years ago the killers were never caught and she never knew why she was killed then she had to live daily with a drunk father.  Darron was a adopted child who was afraid to follow his hearts desire which was Gabriella because he was hiding a secret about himself and he felt that it wasn't fair to involve her.  Monte was hiding his own secrets.  Darron is brought into a situation from the spirit world and it brings the whole gang in to save the friends.  Gabriella learns a lot of who she is and about her mother and her death.  Through this Darron also finds out a startlingly fact that is brought to light that could bring his world to a crashing halt.  I am definitely looking forward to book 2 Destiny Unveiled in order to carry on with this journey with these wonderful characters.  Thank you so much for this fast paced and entertaining story.

HEAD TO MY BLOG FOR PHOTOS OF MY FAVOURITE, AMAZING QUOTES. GO. http://disincentive-reviews.blogspot....I have written this review like, 3 times already. First one on my phone, then it broke down and I wrote it once again… And my phone broke for the second time. Hi, I’m the lucky one. So here’s the third review – that’s why it took me so long.I haven’t fangirled over a book so much since I read Harry Potter for the first time. Writing a review for this one is just hard as there WASN’T A SINGLE THING I didn’t like. No cons, only pros.Let’s start with an amazing writing style – this one has it. It makes you blend into Destiny. It’s not so-sophisticated-that-you-need-to-read-it-with-dictionary. It’s simple but somehow beautiful. Dialogues are natural and witty. I marked my favorite quotes and I’ll show you a few of them. Characters are simply loveable and real. Nothing more to say. Laura handles a lot of topics… Easily. Want a list? Homosexuality, alcoholism, rape, sex (everything PG), murder, cancer, orphans, religion, friendship… So many topics and everything was developed and described perfectly. I’m a Christian and this book is full of wiccan magic, but I wasn’t bothered at all. There is a part about Gabby’s Christian friend dealing with her magick, too. I have one big problem with YA books – they seem too predictable for me usually. Plain. Simple. Name it how you want. Not this one. The plot has a lot of twists which keeps you concerned until LAST WORDS ON THE LAST PAGE. Literally. This is one of my favorite books ever. Now, I suggest you spend a funny amount of money, 0.99$ on Destiny ebook. Yes, 0.99$ on PURE AWESOMNESS. You won’t regret it.

This story was very entertaining with some pagan roots and earth magic about a young girl who does not know she is a witch as her mother was murdered due to a curse by an evil warlock.Although it does not necessarily reflect true witchcraft, paganism and wicca,it makes a very interesting story and keep in mind if You are a witch-it is fictional. It shows how someone who is power hungry will become evil and attack innocent people in order to steal their power. He murdered this young witch's mother for her power, she is unaware as her mother protects her from the other side and he attacked and cursed her mothers coven-and in the story,it becomes clear how love is the most strongest emotion and power that not even the truest concept of evil can override. As any witch can attest too-as we all experienced power hungry egos at some point in our lives and dealt with ignorance on some level,we never give our personal power to anyone, not even as we die,so it definitely is a good read and we all can relate,no matter what encounters we experience or types of magic we have practiced...our most powerful spells come out of pure, unconditional love that Nothing or No one can penetrate. This story reflects this making it a must read.

In”Destiny” we meet Darron and Gabriella and their friends who eventually make up their coven, even though they are mortal. Darron and Gabriella are witches, although it takes a while for Gabriella to admit it to herself or anyone else. During this story they face an evil witch who is trying to convert them to evil or kill them, and boy is there a whopper of a twist in this novel.. well several but one that totally came out of left field. This series has a little bit of everything for everyone. There is fantasy, adventure, mystery, intrigue, romance, sex (okay only a little and it’s totally PG), and just fun. Oh, and I forgot to mention the totally hot men. So a couple of them are gay, they are still hot and not all of them are gay. And for the men, gorgeous women. Hmmm, did I mention the hot men?? I give these stories a definite 5 out of 5 clouds. The perfect summer (or winter) read. This product or book may have been distributed for review; this in no way affects my opinions or reviews.

An exciting, magical and vividly written YA paranormal romance that many fans of the genre will sure enjoy!Gabrielle lost her mother many years ago and though unaware, her memories right along with her. These memories are of very great importance to her wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of many others around her because right along with her memories, are her powers which also remain hidden deep and she requires them both if she is to survive. Now she just needs to learn and accept her true calling that she persistently denies to no end. Even after Darren offers his help and gives her proof of the reality of the situation and their powers.Destiny has great characters, all are very lovable (well except for the bad guy, but even he was likeable, sometimes). There is also excellent character growth and learning experiences all while maintaining a touching and action packed read. I look forward to reading the next in the series to see what blossoms and what fizzles :)

This book is truly amazing! I bought it last night and I already finished it. I stayed up all night! Its the story of a witch struggling to come to terms with her magic, but its also a story of friendship and love. Its a story of overcoming stereotypes and coming to terms with who you are, whether that's a witch or a young gay teen. I can't wait for the sequel!

I was unable to put this book down. It was a unusual story that kept my mind moving. i had to find out what was to happen. The book cover is beautiful. The story is about a girl who discovers she is a witch. She has many secrets to find out about herself and falls in love in the process. I recommend it to anyone who wants to read a great story with the magic involved, love and suspense.

Gabby is your everyday average teen, trying to fight her way through high school. Normal in just about every way. She doesn’t quite fit in (who does by the way?). She has a crush on the cute guy. The mean girl is bullying her, and she comes out of a not so perfect home. When all of a sudden her world comes crashing down. Now she finds out she is a witch, and is supposed to take down the big bad guy. Darron on the other hand is anything but normal. He seems to be wise beyond his years. Cold and distant, even to his closest friends. He believes this is the only way to keep his secret safe. Darron gets tasked with awakening Gabby’s powers again, and finally gets to show her his love for her. An amazing story of two souls mates, destined to be together, who once again find their ways into each other’s arms. The Good:Gabby has some really amazing, understanding, supportive friends. In return she herself can be pretty supportive too. I loved the bitchy fights between Gabby and Vanessa. I also enjoyed the fact that no BIG conflicts came Gabby’s way. If she were to all of a sudden be an extraordinary witch after 6 years of no practice I would have put the book down no questions asked. The Not So Good:No issues with the book itself. I just did not enjoy Shelly as a character. This might be because of my religion, but I felt a little bit offended by her ‘obvious’ Christianity. I myself am Christian and I would hope that I would be a bit more open minded when something like that came my way. Wasn’t a fan at how she was portrayed to be crazy. Once again this is only because of my religion. I was also a bit disappointed by the fact that Darron’s parents didn’t play a bigger role. Not a big deal, would have just liked to see a bit more of them. The Great:I am a big sucker for star crossed lovers, soul mates, and destiny. This book had that in spades. I loved how specific it was in details of the craft. Yes, I am a sucker for details. Oh and I loved the twist about Darron. I won’t spoil it for you, but there is nothing better then a big twist to make it all worth while. Darron by the way, is also a fantastically sexy character who you cannot help but fall in love with. He is strong, self reliant, really sexy and has flaws (because no one can be perfect). I cannot wait to pick up Destiny Unveiled to find out what happens next. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Witches and magick aren't really my cup of tea in YA novels these days, but this novel sure kept me interested! The mythology behind the story was so unique and it was a little refreshing after all the vampires and werewolves prancing around (not that I don't love them too hahah). The characters in this story were so rich! The Spanish/Hispanic names were all really interesting and pretty cool. My favorite character was probably Darron because he's so powerful, yet vulnerable. Sweet, yet stern. Outspoken, yet reserved. And pretty darn hot, too ;) The relationship between him and Gabriella was SO freaking adorable, too! *Girlish squeal*Plot wise, this story kept me engrossed pretty much the whole time. Read this in one sitting during a road trip, and I literally could NOT put it down! The action was intense and the plot twists had me making :O faces constantly. The only problem I had with this story was Gabriella's tendency to do really stupid stuff. Like get into a pointless fight. Or trust a creep that she doesn't know just because he's nice. For a main character she's kind of short-sighted and doesn't really think things through, which kind of irritates me. But I guess the story wouldn't be the same without that, so I guess I can live with it.Overall, very promising! Can't wait to read the next one! :)

This is a fantastic book. From the very first chapter you are sucked into right into the lives of the characters. Throughout the story you learn more and more about the characters and begin to feel as if you know them personally. There are times you may wish you could reach right in the pages and give them a bit of smack on the head and other times you wish you could give them a great big hug. The author does a brilliant job of bringing the characters to life so that you really care what happens to them in the end. You find yourself hanging on every word written waiting anxiously to find out what happens next and how it will all end only to find that when it ends, it's been built up beautifully for the second book!I really enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to reading the next one.

Brilliant author!! The Destiny series is one not to miss and a must read!! Laura DeLuca puts it together in a great package. Her characters are so full of life and once you've been reading, you feel as if you're in the book. I love this author!! My reviews are short. I don't go into detail. You need to read the book for that. But she can tell one hell of a story. And you won't stop until you've hit the last page. Her descriptions of characters and places are so vivid. I just cannot give her enough praise. If you're looking for something different, which we all tend to get caught up on the same type of books at times, well, Laura DeLuca will take care of that for you!! Personally, I'd start the Destiny series, but hey, that's me. Pick your own, but definitely buy her books.

Jealousy, murder, love and magick made Destiny a really good read.I seriously got into this book. Out of the few books I've read that contained witchcraft, I haven't had the pleasure of reading one with Wicca in it. Having known people who study Wicca and reading about it made this story so much more enjoyable for me. Laura took such care with detail with the spells she used and she set the scenes up to allow the reader to experience the powers at work (so to speak). My only complaint is that I have no idea if there is a sequel out or one in the works. I am fast becoming a huge fan of Ms DeLuca.

For a young adult (read 12-15 year olds) book, this one is not half bad. It is the author's 1st book to the best of my knowledge too, so that should be taken into consideration. I was able to finish it and it kept my attention well enough that I want to read the next book in the series. It was a bit generic in its description of things and feelings but I enjoyed the ending immensely and the earth magic touched a chord in my heart as well. I only recommend this book to adult readers IF you are still in touch with your childhood in spirit. If you are looking for a mature read or something very deep, this is not for you.

This book is book 1 in a 2 book series. I read this book for Promotional Book Tours.I personally love to read books on paranomal with witches and Wiccan. This book was a quick read and the story flowed beautifully. Gabriella has blocked out the memories of being a witch when her mother died. While she is coming to terms with her true identity she gives into the love of a friend. Being a witch is more than just spells and power. It's also about love and finding who your true friends are.I can't wait to read the next book.

I was so impressed with this book! I loved the characters and the interactions between them. Gabriella and Darron have the makings of an epic romance and I cant wait to see how they evolve. I love the idea of true soulmates that span lifetimes. I am excited to see how Gabriella and Darron, along with their friends, overcome the evil that is headed their way.

This is such a great book! I am so glad I found it. There are not many books out there that cast witches in a good light, but this one does. I love how the author weaved in real elements of wicca in with the fantasy. Very well done and definitely worth the $.99 I paid for it!

This was a great Stroy line. Its just my kind of book/movie I enjoy. The kind of book you just can't put down because you need to know what is going to happen next. And its so relatable almost as if you are part of the characters your reading for.
