How refreshing it was to read this book, which thankfully did not attach the concept of prayer to a Christian's discipline or duty, but simply motivated me to pray for no other reason but the sheer JOY of communicating with my God. Cheri reminds me that I don't have to feel guilty if I miss a given stretch of devoted "prayer time" with Him, because I can talk to Him anywhere, at anytime, at which time I will find Him listening and anxious to answer. What a great book!

The author gave a lot of tips on how to incorporate prayers into daily life. I bought this in a book sale and since I was looking for a book that has tips on how to pray I got this on the rack, What I love this book is its hardcover and this can be used as a study guide for quiet time. The author gave her website as well as their subscription offer. This is a good book. I love how the author would give examples on each advice she gave. There is a lot of comparison in the book to the author's life and her friends life. I also used this book for reference for my quiet time.

This was a good book for me because I am (1) very busy and (2) I feel like my prayer life is not very mature. The cover alone intrigued me because I have always wanted to develop my prayer life, but feel like I never have the time. Cheri gives some great suggestions for integrating prayer into your daily routine. For one, she suggested praying while working out. I've started doing this in the past week, and it is amazing how you can pray the whole time! This book helped me to realize that prayer is like having a normal conversation with God and that it is a gift to be able to talk to him - not a duty/obligation. Think about it - how would your best friend from college feel if every time you called her up you just rambled through a list of items to catch up and then never really listened to her, and hung up abruptly. I like to think of talking to God as an enjoyable experience, and it is a time to discuss my worries, fears, anxieties, hopes for the future, cares for friends and family... The list can go on and on!Another great idea I got from this book is to say five minute prayers for people in the car. You can use "BLESS" - pray for body, labor, emotions, social and spiritual. I've been praying for some key people lately, and they can tell the difference (I think!). It also helps because I always say I'm going to pray for someone, but sometimes it doesn't get done. I also plan to put a notecard on my car visor with a short prayer list on it. I've also started saying a short prayer for people right when I say I am going to - what better time to do it. And usually the other person is eager to accept, and it shows you mean business. These are great ways to integrate prayer into your life, instead of trying to "make" time for prayer. This is what Paul means by "praying constantly."I plan to develop my prayer maturity by giving time to listen to God. My mom described it to me as giving quiet time where you are open to listening to God. Imagine you are in a big empty mansion, listening for God. You need to clear your mind and be open to hearing what God has to say. The Bible says "a sheep will recognize his shepherd's voice." I'm not expecting to hear clear distinct words persay, but I have experienced a thought or idea that I don't think came to me all on its own. The more mature your prayer life becomes, the more clearly you can hear God. It makes sense to listen, too. Going back to your friend from college example, I'm sure your friend doesn't want to sit on the line and never get to say one word.I recommend this book if you are interested in learning more about your prayer life, and it gives great scripture references. I think it is a good book for someone who desires to learn the basics about prayer and to develop a unique prayer life that fits your lifestyle.

I really enjoyed this book. as a stay a home mom with 3 kids my life is a constant faris wheel that doesnt stop. i have a 6 year old and 4 year old twins. one of my twins is developmentally delayed so since that day in April when the Lord brought them into the world at 6 months into my pregnancy i have been on the go. School, specialist, dr app, football, cheerleading, gymnastics, ballet, tap, baseball and therapy is a part my routines with my kids because their dad worksalmost everyday all day im the one comin and going with the kids so this book made me find time between my kids schedules just for my time with the Lord and to slow done in life. i even found time to go to church once a week but that hour of mass does alot for me mentally and spiritally. this book taught me how to take my busy life and stop even if its for a minute and pray and give thanks to the Lord for all my blessings. plus, the little stories in this book were great and inspirational

This book lets other women know that they are not alone in the world trying to find time to pray more and longer. Prayer is about a relationship between the person who is praying and God. Prayer is not a performance act. You can be who you truly are when you pray to the father. Prayers have the greatest influence out of everything you do. "God hears, answers, and never forgets prayers." Pray for people that you want to see in heaven. Remember and never forget Psalm 91. Perservance in prayer really pays off. This book is a very good book that teaches us that we are never to busy for God. God is always with us.

Great book about prayer. This is not just another tip book, but it's also not just another person's opinion. It is filled with testimonies, practical application, encouragement, and biblical principles all woven together to make an enjoyable and spiritually uplifting read. I highly recommend this book to women (and young women) of all ages or stages in life. You will be encouraged, comforted, and challenged in a delightful way.

This book seems to be more geared towards mothers of younger children; however, I found it still had a great impact on my understanding of prayer life. I wish I had read this when I was much younger, when my children were much younger-I know it would have strengthened and encouraged me through struggles. This book would be a great companion study for those who appreciate "The War Room".

I enjoyed some of the verses in it but I thought the aurthor went into a little to much detail of her friends lives for every chapter. She had a story about someone she knew on every page and not enough info on religion in some chapters.

I loved this book!! It really helped me with my prayer life, and helped me to understand what prayer means, which is talking to God intimately, knowing He is our Father and He wants to hear from us and for us to know that He is there for us through everything.

This was really a good book. I thought It would be just some good practical advice that would be nice. It was so much more. Words of wisdom from a seasoned Godly lady. A must read for any woman wanting to draw nearer to the Lord!

Main idea: Take all opportunities to pray. It's never too late to start and you can always begin again.
