One of the most inspiring books I've read so far. Great book for a great price and a must-read.

I was excited to start reading this book. I love these kind of books, 2 teens who come from hard upbringings or in this case 2 homeless teens, Rio and Maxx (the girl), who find friendship and love. Well my excitement deflated when this book just got boring and I don't even know the right word. The writing was awful. I just don't know, it did NOT get my attention. The point that it lost me at and made me "roll my eyes" was when Maxx, takes/steals Rio's money and he seems okay with it. Here is Rio who has worked hard to save his money (and has NOTHING) and he is just going to hand it over it to Maxx after only knowing her for 2 days???? Give me a break! I have read a lot of romance novels where the guy falls "head over heals" for a girl quickly and wants to give her things immediately, but those characters usually have the money or a lot of resources. These are 2 teenagers who have suffered and gone through a lot of struggle. Rio wants to make a better life for himself so how could he just give what little he has to a girl he literally met yesterday????I know there are a lot of you who are like me that when we are reading a book, we are thinking about that book throughout our entire day and just counting the minutes until we can go back and continue reading. Well this is not that book. I was giving this book, try after try and nothing. One star is for the cover. I love the cover and that is about it.

First response : Damn, I want to become a foster parent and make a difference. That's how much this story spoke to me. I do have to comment that there were grammatical and spelling errors that were highly annoying. I was also a little upset at how towards the end we were rushed through 10 years of Maxx's life. I honestly would of liked to have read more about her struggles along with Rio's in another book. I was also shocked at how Maxx went from not trusting Rio one chapter to professing her love...I personally would have liked to read about how the emotion and trust was gained. This story is heart felt, and if you have ever known anyone or known of anyone who has been in the system, this isn't a far fetched tale. Obviously not everyone gets their happily ever after like Maxx and Rio do but what leads up to it is honest and should pull at your heart. The blended family was a nice change from other reads and I throughly enjoyed Jo's small part. All in all, a great read. I laughed at loud in some parts and cried in others. I will definitely keep an eye out for other titles by this author.

Just from reading the first chapter, this book made my heart stop. I don't know why this book got me so much but it was just the kind of a book I've been searching for forever. This is the first book I'm doing the review on and though of course I've read many other books as good as this, or even better, however it was the only book that I've felt the need to do a book review. For me, this book was perfect. The storyline just flew flawlessly and the characters were so real that made me cry, smile and laugh in every chapters. However, whilst reading the book I came across few errors but it didn't matter because the writer's writing skills made up for it. I had to stop reading from time to time to let the emotions pour on me. It made me sob and cry my heart out on one moment and smile on the other. Some people may not find this book as good as I did. However, if you are looking for any books to cry, go for this one. Because this one is a definite tearjerker that will definitely touch your heart.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I wasn't sure what I was getting into. This book is about being in the foster care system. We meet Maxx short for Maxine. She is on the run. She runs into another homeless kid. The kid tells her about the chapel on 99th street. The chapel is where she meets Rio. He is funny and has a plan even though he is homeless. He pushes Maxx to have a plan too. They start talking about plans when Maxx gets caught by the cops and is placed back with her foster family. The one she ran from because of the father attacking her. I found myself not wanting to put the book down. Reading 99 to Nowhere just made me think about all the children that are in the system and could possibly be going through similar situations. It was a nice change of pace.

I thought this was the most corney, poorly written book I may have ever read. It was literally all over the place. The two main characters met and the next night they are in love. I get love at first sight but this was just stupid the way it was done. I could not stand the main character. She was so childish and bratty. I understand she was trying to be portrayed that way because she didn't have a lot of good influence in her life but she was just annoying. There was no focus or anything concrete to hold on to. I can see that the author was trying to show what its like to be homeless and in the system but it did not work. The ending was its only saving grace and even that wasn't good. Don't waste the $2.99 on this book.

4 1/2 stars...amazing story.Wow. The only real negative I have is editing. Enough about that. This was so heartbreaking dealing with runaway kids dealing with terrible situations and having no one to turn to. I love Rio and his amazing attitude trying to keep everything positive for himself as well as Maxx. I was very happy with the ending as well. Very well rounded and wrapped up nicely.

Maxx ran away from an abusive foster family and is trying to fend for herself. She's nearly given up hope when she meets Rio, another young runaway. Together they try to survive and in the middle of it all, they fall in love. This book was depressing yet hopeful. Maxx tried to create a hard shell around her so others couldn't see how hurt she was. She didn't trust anyone but then she realized the inner strength and power that she had to take control of her own life. The end of the book is set quite a few years ahead of the main story, which I loved. The ending was great.

This book had me stuck to the pages. Once I started, I found it quite hard to put down. It was like an emotional rollercoaster. (In a good way.) One moment it's got you crying, and the next your heart's racing with excitement. I read this book once and would easily read it again.

I liked this story. The characters were connectable and I loved Rio. But the story drug on after awhile and I found my self rushing just to complete. The story plot just seemed choppy. Will I read it again? Not likely. Am I glad I read it? Sure, it was worth it's price.

This book reminds me a lot of Callum & Harper! These characters no matter what they did could not catch a break but they kept going!
