I believe only God and the Bible can speak for God; but I did find bits of the religious section helpful. This book helped me to realize when my guilt was healthy, and when it was unhealthy. I liked the use of personal examples; both by Susan and her clients. The ease of navigation was good. I was able to flip through to chapters I felt were most relevant to me. Material like this can be quite dry. The Author did a good job keeping it interesting and engaging. I have a rescuer personality; Recognizing toxic guilt and implementing the changes described in the book has helped me immensely. I would recommend this book for people who need to overcome their desire to put the needs and approval of others over their well being.

I mean, its a self-help book. The title appealed to me because I have been plagued with ridiculous amounts of guilt my entire life and have only recently begun excusing myself from feeling it. Over everything. All the time. Which, I'll be honest, has also made me feel a little guilty. Holy emotional boundaries, Batman! So the book was validating- a much needed reminder that my feelings are as important as other people's feelings, and that its OK to refrain from beating myself up for being human and not the shiny robot I aim to be. Recommended to other crazies like me.
