Then he learns that not only is the twin a man rather than a woman, but it’s a man he’s met before–under less than appropriate circumstances.Casey Baker doesn’t expect the guy he once had a memorable encounter in a club bathroom with to turn up as his brother-in-law to be, but he’s able to deal with the surprise. Dealing with the strong attraction they feel for each other is a lot more difficult, but Casey figures a short, hot fling will take care of that. Too bad he’s not good at staying detached, and Skyler’s not good at commitment. When mother nature and the past combine to put the wedding in jeopardy, Skyler and Casey have more than just their own confused feelings to deal with. Will the weekend end with two sets of broken hearts?...

This was a low-key, silly, smutty read for me going into the final chapter. Probably a 3 star rating. I didn't love it, but I liked it enough to give it a mild recommendation to M/M romance fans. Most of the angst in this book was aimed at the MC's siblings, who were getting married during the majority of the story. But then the talented Cassandra Gold went and gave us a orgasm worthy epilogue that bumped this baby up a star and put this book firmly in my guilty pleasure category. I just love that Loose-ID has dedicated June 2013 to weddings. I'm loving the theme!Recommended for hopeless M/M romantics!

This was a light and easy story, no real major conflicts, easy and likeable characters. This story fit for what I was looking for on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

3.25 starsCassandra Gold is one of my comfort authors -- I know that I will get a lovely story whenever she releases a new one. This latest, however, falls a bit in the okay/nice category for me. I agree with Gigi who said that the story was low-key. I think that was my issue. The conflict (that should pull me in) wasn't directly about either Skyler or Casey; instead it was more about their siblings. The bride going bridezilla, the groom getting cold feet. So, I felt like the focus was taken off them several times, and I lost the sexual tension that would make me empathize with them more. I also missed their first meeting (I wish it was written on page) and I felt like the timeline after the wedding into the epilogue was rushed (even if there was a chapter written when both of them left Florida).Having said that, it was still a nice read -- I just didn't love it like some other titles from her.

Not quite to my liking from this author. I do think it because of me though...The conflict here was less pronounced because it was all internal and somewhat abstract. It was more tell than show and the MCs interests in each other seemed to base mostly on how great they were together in bed. Plus this is a weekend romance, so there weren't a lot of page time to really make their connections deepen in a believable manner.(view spoiler)[The book last chapter ended with the MCs committed to each other and wanted to see how the relationship went. Then the epilogue skip two years with them getting married. So even more tell and not enough show. (hide spoiler)] All in all, made this book lacking some depth for the subject matter. It probably wasn't the high marked books Ms. Gold usually release but it is more toward average.

3.5 stars This reminds me a bit of Quinn's Hart, another book by the same author. In both books, the main characters are from St. Louis MO but are on vacation --and meet each other--in Florida.Unlike QH, however, I didn't feel burning sexual tension and warm chemistry between the MCs. I did like that we got to see the MCs beyond Florida. In addition, we also read about the relationships between the groom and the bride (no girlie bits there, just relationship issue), and between the MC's father and mother. These relationships are intertwined nicely with the MC's.

A simple but sweet read about two very likable guys. Just what I needed.

This was a sweet story and I do enjoy the author's writing but I felt I missed something, like when they originally met in a club. It was referred to as if you would know what they were talking about. Nothing too dramatic besides the usual last-min wedding jitters of the bride and groom when the weather breaks loose, but still, an enjoyable little read with nice guys.

I really enjoy books from this author, but this one just didn't hit all the right marks for me for some reason. It was still a sweet story, but I don't know if I wasn't feeling the chemistry between Casey and Skyler or what, but it was just OK for me. Still, I really do love this author and look forward to her next release!

4 Stars. Skyler Spencer arrives in Key West for his brother’s wedding, he expects to meet his new sister-in-law to be, as well as her twin sister. He’s prepared to spend time keeping the twin company. What he’s not prepared for is that the twin turns out to be a man, and one he knows from a brief, yet hot, encounter in a club. Casey Baker is everything Skyler remembers him to be — gorgeous and sexy — as well as a bunch of other things he never got the chance to learn about him, including fun and adventurous and full of spirit. When the two end up in the same room together, they have the opportunity to get to know each other quickly. Skyler is a successful photographer from St. Louis who has commitment issues due to his dysfunctional parents. Casey is a NICU nurse who loves his job taking care of high-risk babies. They’re both genuinely surprised to see each other that first day, but neither one seems at all disappointed. When Skyler’s brother, Storm, and Casey’s sister, Callie, end up having a few pre-wedding issues, it’s up to the brothers to pull things together. They also have to decide if what they have is just a wedding weekend fling, or if they’re in it for the long term. There are times you want to read books with depth and meaning. Sometimes you want books that make you think. Other times, you just want a little bit of fluff. This book fits squarely in the latter category. There is nothing revolutionary or all that original about the story. Two men meet at a wedding and have a lot of sex. They have to decide if there’s something more. However, I thought this story did the “little bit of fluff” relatively well. It was sweet and charming and easy to read. I liked the characters and really did root for them to be together. There was very little angst or conflict at all, which doesn’t make for a very compelling story, but, in this case, left me feeling content. There’s also a lot of sex for such a short novel and it starts happening fairly quickly. Were they the steamiest scenes I’ve ever read? No. But they were satisfying and there were a lot of them. So if you’re in the mood for something with more sex than plot, this book is for you. There’s really not much else to say, as there’s not much to this story. With the exception of a few pages, it takes place over a weekend. I didn’t love the head-hopping between Skyler and Casey and would’ve preferred to stick with one character, but other than that, the writing was good.If you’re in the mood for something light, without a lot of substance, but with likeable characters and an entertaining plot, definitely pick this one up. It didn’t change my life, but it was a fun, quick read.

Slick‘s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book ReviewsReview copy provided for an honest review4.5 STARSNew to me author Cassandra Gold has wowed me with her latest release Always A Groomsman. There’s no doubt, I love a good man love story and this book is that and so much more. I was fascinated by the unwavering love both Skyler and Casey had for their younger siblings, how much they both tried to deny deeper feelings, and how easily they seemed to fit together. Needless to say, seeing a club bathroom hook-up and realizing that he’s the sibling of your sibling’s fiancé is probably a wee bit stressful but they managed to put it behind them and more forward.I don’t know why but I immediately felt connected to both of these men. Skyler no doubt has some issues and I enjoyed watching him come to terms with them as he watched his little brother, Storm, move toward matrimony. The fact that both men were raised in a horrible situation left both with scars and they reared their ugly heads more than once the weekend of the wedding. Casey is one of those people that you immediately like. He has one of those personalities that draws you to him and he lights up any room he’s in. He’s a little insecure but that comes from his job that some people don’t find “manly” enough and a few men who left his heart a little wounded but he’s optimistic, cheery, and tries to see the best in everyone. It was interesting that because these two had their prior encounter, something that many would be embarrassed about; they move right past it and find they enjoy each other’s company immensely. While there was no doubt some conflict, I enjoyed the fact that they handled their attraction and their relationship by communicating about their fears and issues. More than anything, I loved that despite their unwavering support of their own siblings they didn’t let their issues interfere with what was happening between them. This is a feel good book pretty much from start to finish, while there is some conflict it isn’t so much with this couple but their siblings who are getting married. While they began a sexual relationship quickly, they also spent time getting to know each other beyond sex and managed to work towards a lasting relationship. Always A Groomsman is a story of finding love where and when you least expect it and finding it’s not a bad thing when it happens; it’s courageous, it’s hopeful, and it’s downright beautiful!

Perfect for a bit of light reading. Skylar Spencer heads to key west when his baby brother calls him to be his best man. Take some pictures, stand up for his brother and meet his soon to be sister-in-law and her twin sister. Easy peasy, right? Well, said twin turns out to be a guy and not just any guy, but a guy Skylar has history with. The story flows well from beginning to end with likeable characters and a cute storyline of the past, present and future coming together. The history that Skylar and Casey share, albeit brief, makes them comfortable with each other. There is a lot of content wrapped up in just a few pages. From the impending wedding of their siblings to their own budding romance and Gold manages to bring everything full circle in the end.Predictable but fun read with a definite HEA. Perfect story for hopeless romantics, with the added M/M twist.

I really liked smooth polished writing in this one and I saw the glimpses of characters I could like, unfortunately I felt that brother and sister of our characters were in love ( makes sense since they were getting married) and our characters were just physically attracted to each other and showed that many times . And was the epilogue necessary? I get that time passed but since we did not see it i felt that event occurred after two days not two years.

To feel or Not to feel....Hmm well I go both ways actually on this. At times I felt the connection between them, romantic sweet but not overdone. Then, perhaps from the lack of feeling hot sex.. it just doesn't come across as hot at any time but romantic a few times, the connection feels forced. In the romantic but not frantic mode, this may hit the spot
