I love picture books with repetition or rhyme to read with my grandson. This one has repetition and can be sung to the tune Farmer in the Dell. My grandson loved it, but got a bit confused when the pattern changed. When we got the third line, there was a pattern for the first few pages then it changed. That is the only reason why I did not give this book five stars. When the dog and cat were introduced their line had the sound they make, but not for the goat, donkey or chickens. My husband grew up on a farm so we were also able to talk about that with the illustrations as well. The illustrations were bright, colourful and fun. I tried to get him to figure out what the line would be based in the illustration and he didn't do too badly. We read it a few times over as he enjoyed the song. A great addition to a family library. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via netgalley.

I loved this book, as the words are written to the tune of 'The Farmer in The Dell'; it makes storytelling so much more fun if you can sing the words to a well-known tune! The illustrations are fun, and done in quite an unusual way artistically, which I have not seen very often, almost as though the blocks of colour have been appliquéd - very fun! This book could definitely be read again and again and I'm sure little ones would soon come to learn the words by heart!

We're going to the Farm is a play on a children's nursery song, and makes you want to Hi Ho The farm-eo We're going to the Farm! Sweet pictures, full of bright colors, easy word placement, repetitive rhyme/song cadence carries throughout the book makes this a bed time, or story time favorite. Recommend this for nursery schools, preschool, library story time, gift giving, and perfect to put in farm gift shops as well.

I really like this book. It was very easy to read to my nephew it is full of rhyming and repetition. It reminds me a lot of old McDonald's Farm with how it's written.I would definitely recommend this book for anyone with small children. It can easily be used as a picture book or as an early reader book.

Simple singalong of all the things you can do on the farm: ride horses, roll in the hay, play with animals, etc.Just as simple artwork, nothing fancy for the kiddies, but It shouldn’t matter as the singing is the highlight.

Nice twist on the Farmer in the Dell sing-song story. Good story for an interactive storytime group session with obvious movements and sounds to go along with the fun illustrations.Great for introducing what to expect at an upcoming visit to a real farm.

We're Going to the Farm is a vibrantly illustrated story that encourages children to read or sing along as they discover all the exciting things they can see and do on a farm.My favorite aspect of the story is that it is set to the tune of Farmer in the Dell. I fondly remember singing this song as a child and because it is a simple and catchy little ditty children will be engaged to join in the fun. The children and farm animals are adorable and are sure to delight little readers.I highly recommend picking up a copy of We're Going to the Farm.

Updated version of "Farmer in the Dell". Targeted for ages 0-5; simple text and rhyme makes it more appealing to toddlers. The large and bold illustrations include multicultural characters, farm animals, familiar objects and some of the sounds they make. This book would make a nice read aloud book for day care and preschool teachers or a bedtime story. Warning to adults--you may not be able to get this song out of your head!

This story is set to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell, so pre-teaching this diddy might be necessary for younger readers. This sing-along takes readers on a handful of adventures that all take place at the farm. Take your pick, it happens! Feeding chickens, petting ducks, riding the tractor, counting stars. It all happens. This is a great picture book for youngsters who enjoy animals, farm life and activities.

This book is adorable. It could've easily become a favorite with my son, but he's a little too old for quite this level of repetitiveness. He at about 2 years old he would've been all over it. Especially singing it and coupled with going through all the farm animals is very engaging. The illustrations are wonderful. Bright and fanciful but realistic enough.

This is a great book to share with toddles. There is lots of repetition to keep the youngest child engaged. Another great thing about this book is that it can be sung to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell.” This is a fun way to teach children about the farm.
