Why is everyone in this book kept talking about having menage fantasies? Even Tripp, the human mate. Wth? I thought I picked an M/M book. I don't need to be reminded about this thing. Shame on me because I don't read menage. It's turn-off for me. Too bad, what works with other people doesn't mean works for me too.And for the story itself, I'm not into this. This one doesn't seem interest me enough.I would love to know about Boone's story. But I think he's into menage. Too bad. It's okay, you can't please everyone. I hope the next book would be good for me *fingers crossed*. I mean book #5. FYI, I skip book #1, #2, and #4.

It seems that the real underlying story is only just beginning in this third book of the series. Apparently, it isn't just that "mixed species" matings are frowned upon by certain people, but certain shifter species are discriminated by everyone else in this world. Ocelots (essentially, small leopards) don’t seem to be welcome in most prides, so the twin brothers, Jude and Patch, have to run for their lives. Add this persecution to the rule about having to ask for permission to stay in another pack's territory, and the two brothers are in deep trouble when they try to hide instead of requesting leave to stay. Not that I can blame them; their experience of being thrown out and chased by pride after pride doesn’t exactly encourage them to come out of hiding.Jude is a great guy who made me laugh, especially with his obsession about cold milk, and yet, he also has a deep sadness within him ever since he and his twin brother have been kicked out of their parents' pride and threatened with death multiple times. It is unfortunate his mate is human and has no idea what is going on, or I am sure he would have defended Jude much sooner. Luckily, Jude is a survivor, and, for once, he finds out that hanging in there can carry great rewards.Tripp didn’t expect to fall for a small man wearing glasses, has no idea what the implications are when the guy bites him during their "restroom interlude" in the club, and runs as soon as he figures out Jude is looking for long-term. He doesn't know the half of it! But he soon finds out, and it all starts with him being mysteriously drawn back to the club. He intends to find the intriguing guy and figure out what is going on.This book is filled with humor, hot man-on-man action, and some very evil machinations in the background. Jude may have finally found a home, mysteries are discovered and solved, and I was wonderfully entertained throughout all of it.If you like a paranormal romance with a human being introduced into the shifter world, if pride politics and mysterious, age-old secrets are your thing, and if you enjoy hot bedroom interludes with everyone's emotions all over the place, then you will probably like this novella.

I'm not sure what to say. This is the first Stormy Glenn book that hasn't gotten at least 3 stars from me. I normally love her work. This one just didn't sit right with me. Something was very off. I can't put my finger on it exactly but it was just off.The first half of the story was wonderful and I was really getting into it. It seemed after the mating it went into the land of the bizarre. Jude went from submissive to bratty. He did a total personality change. It was like a totally different story inside a story. I'm not sure if that was what Stormy was going for. Who knows? This wasn't her best work. This story should've been fleshed out more. There were a lot of unanswered questions as well that has to do with the MCs. For example, you could tell after the mating Tripp was no longer completely human. That was never talked about again. One of the characters even asked about it and it was glossed over. Everyone kept talking about all the research into so many things but us as the audience didn't get those answers. Which is a shame for me because I don't read M/M/M. If those answers appear in future stories I will not be privy to them.It will not stop me from reading more of her work in the future though. You can't win them all and this one was a loss for me.

Blog Post: http://headouttheoven.blogspot.com/20...>>>>>>For such a telling blurb, the story did not quite follow through. Tripp and Jude's story did not start all that romantic, it was rather hilarious. Tripp is an ÜberAlpha male who is most definitely human while Jude is a twink-slash-submissive-slash-alpha-elder-thingy. Okay, that was confusing. Let us start over.Tripp sees Jude for the first time in a bar drinking milk (Jude seems to be addicted to this stuff) and finds him like a funny dude who was very cute - even if Tripp finds himself tripping over the simple fact that Jude is defo not his type. He is cute, adorable, adorable and adorable. Soon, they find themselves in a compromising position, then they sorta break up and within a few hours Tripp finds himself with arms full of Jude once more, his bff, who turns out to be a beta in his own pride, is incredulous and the twin Patch is like... just... there. Then he literally fights his way and stumbles into the paranormal world. He is too alpha to be a human and yet.... Then things scramble up, add in a few more deets and we get Jude turning out to be some Super Ocelot Regal Elder with some really weird and inexplicable super-powers and they get the obligated protection from the same pride that started out as the very ones who were likely to eliminate Jude and twin Patch. Whew! Have to pause here a minute and digest what I just wrote. The romance is definitely happening. The story is fast paced, as in VERY fast paced, but there is really nothing resolved. So I am left wondering, is this a Book #3? Is their story ever going to be solved or explained or something? There were just too many holes in the plot that were never quite filled up. Whatever explanation done here just skimmed the surface at the very least.I don't know, but somehow I cannot quite connect this with the first two books. I feel like I stumbled into a completely different series within a series. If this is the intention of author Stormy Glenn, then I laud her for surprising us with this unusual turn of events in the Scent of Mate Series. I will be looking forward to Patch's story, Heart of a Mate, who is definitely mated to the pride Alpha Hugh's brother. Which it may be, no idea, but that is practically the last hint in this book. Sorry to spoil the fun, but I feel this is an incomplete book. (Update: seems like it is Otto! and he's only one of two mates! Ha!)I guess we have to wait out for Book #4 then, just to find out what in heck is going on here? What do you think?

Yep, you know it, my friends. I jumped straight into this third book in the 'Scent of a Mate' series by Stormy Glenn. I couldn't help myself. Everything sort of twines together and I wanted to find out more, plus see the guys I've already fallen for. Which, by the way, that number seems to be increasing in each successive installment.Fell hard for Jude. Like I did for Benji and Kye. What can I say? I've got a thing for twinks who look weak, but have an inner core of steel within. Jude just couldn't understand why Tripp rejected him. He accepted Jude's mating bite. But then he just walked away. Oh, it was tearing my heart out to watch poor Jude. Luckily for Jude, his twin, Patrick (Patch), reminds him that his mate might be human and would have no idea.My heart really hurt for both Jude and Patch. It's not their fault they were born ocelots. Their parents are jaguars , one would assume it's their fault they had twin boys who turned out to be ocelots. Apparently in the large feline prides, ocelots are abominations, and the brothers have spent the past four years running and hiding from other prides and shifters that want to kill them. I really needed these guys to get happy ever afters. The terror that Jude and Patch both experienced when they found out from Boone that they were, in fact, in Potter's Creek Pride territory, they hadn't announced their intentions, nor had they asked for the customary five days from Alpha Hugh, just broke my heart. Truly.Oh my. What a fantastic twist Ms. Glenn threw into this story. I loved it! Plus, it totally justified my feelings for how amazing Jude is. Wow. I so can't wait to see where this goes. Loved it, loved it, loved it! Three snaps, please!!

I had this book for so long on my computer that I forgot all about it, I read it as stand alone and I enjoyed. Surprisingly my brain remember the previews books.

This novella didn't have a lot of story and was fairly angst free. The love story itself is pretty classic Stormy Glenn with a cat shifter finding his mate. Had a little twist on who the cat shifter was. We didn't get an explanation as to how Tripp, as a human, (view spoiler)[would grow canines in order to bond with Jude and a knot on his cock when having sex (hide spoiler)]. That was just dropped and have others in this series have shown, unlikely to be explained later. Overall, simple and easy read with cute characters.

Loved it. Sweet and spicy. Could have used a bigger conflict. There was no villain so the ending felt a little anti-climatic. Jude was utterly sweet and Tripp was über alpha, even if he was human.

From asking for a glass of milk to sniffing the clientele in a bar, he forever made his mark to this reader and the other people who were there. Tripp was a love-em and leave-em kind of guy before he met Jude. He had no idea what he was getting into when he approached Jude and he was astounded his usual attitude changed after they had been together one time. Tripp was thrown into the paranormal world after meeting Jude, but his acceptance and desire to protect Jude was astounding. This book with its unique characters and fascinating plot twists captivated me from the beginning.

I fell in love with Jude and his little quirks as soon as I started to read this book. You can see that Jude likes to laugh and that he finds the smallest things amusing, but behind all of that he has been hurt deeply in the past. He’s always the brunt of people’s jokes and because he’s small people assume they can hurt him whenever they want and he won’t retaliate. With Tripp however it took me slightly longer to fall in love. This is because he seems very insensitive at the beginning and didn’t seem to care about Jude’s feelings. Though I must say their first sexual encounter was out of this world and Tripp didn’t know what hit him. For someone who seems so in control of himself and his surroundings it was quite refreshing to read about how he got himself turned around by a little guy.It was also comical how Jude had Tripp so turned inside out that he didn’t know if he was coming or going and he did things that he normally wouldn’t do. Just seeing Jude’s smile when he finally said the right things was amazing. However I did want to shake Tripp time and again with the things that he did to Jude that hurt him. However not knowing about mates and packs you can almost understand the why’s behind it all. I like seeing how Jude grew in to the person he should have been all along if it wasn’t for his family. He is a strong and loyal shifter who would do anything for those he loves and the twist towards the end with Jude was a brilliant turn to the story and something I would not even have guessed – I love it when books are like this.A brilliant continuation to the series and I can’t wait to read Patch’s story as we had a hint of it in this one and I definitely want to see what happens to him and his two mates especially the one who has turned away from him. Five shooting Stars!!

Jude and his brother Patch are constantly on the run because they are ocelot shifters. In their world, being an ocelot is cause for death, so they've been nomads since they were shunned from their family and pride. Tripp, an extremely alpha human is immediately enamored with the small and mysterious man who happily drinks milk at the local bar, and has the inexplicable need to protect him. As soon as Jude smells the handsome stranger sitting next to him at the bar, he knows he's different. Tripp is his mate, but what will happen when Tripp tells him he's not looking for a relationship?I really enjoyed the first half of this story. Seeing Jude and Tripp get to know each other was interesting to watch. There was insta-love, but I chalked it up to the whole mating Ritual. However, the second half completely lost me. (view spoiler)[It is discovered that Jude is a Regal Elder, basically a god amongst shifters and an alpha. Up until that moment, Jude embodied the personality of a submissive partner, but magically and suddenly had more power than any shifter in centuries. Even Jude, himself, couldn't believe it. This sets off the need to fiercely protect Jude because now even more shifters want to come after him, not because of the fact that he's an ocelot, but because now he has an incredible amount of power. Something about this, the first half of the book approximately, seems soooo familiar. Being in someone else's territory, whether is known or not known, and worrying about the consequences. Just can't think of what book is coming to mind...I did like this for the most part. I think part of what I didn't like is the new status that Jude acquires. Hugh's reaction upon first meet would have been more impressive if he'd displayed an almost immediate invitation to be part of the pride and not be breed snob like everyone else. Alas, we didn't get to see this since things progressed rather fast at this point.Tripp was an enigma to me. Human but certain things come up (view spoiler)[ able to actually bite his mate and that he knots him(hide spoiler)] that weren't explained satisfactorily to my satisfaction. This book was set up differently than the other two so the same rules don't necessarily apply.I'm hoping some of these loose ends will be tied up in Patch's book.

This one was off for me. I like the characters and mating but Jude's character changed partway through, from cutie, bouncy character to a trouble drawing, bratty mate. I also saw errors in consistence within the writing. Clothes were off then on, and the like. There were small issues that made me not enjoy this one as much as I thought I would.

I didn't read the first two books in this series as they were M/M/M, so I felt a little lost in the world building. I did like Tripp and his mate's coming together and look forward to Patch finding his mate.
