Because besides an MBA, this twenty-four-year old has a mission: to prove to Alex Argiros, the gorgeous Greek magnate, that she has now grown out of the habit of flashing her underwear and looking like a zombie flick castoff … in the presence of hundreds. The catch? She has to hide who she is. Thankfully, not having seen him since her early teens helps, and soon she gets all she wants and so much more. Not only does Alex not connect his highly qualified new assistant to the disaster magnate of his distant past, but apart from his admiration, he also offers her his heart. Now, Monica has a new mission: to keep it forever. But first she has to come clean before he finds out her connection to the bane of his existence. Because if he does, he’ll rightfully assume she plays the part of the Trojan Horse, and then he’ll shed the sleek businessman exterior, letting his hot-blooded Greek nature take over. 4 Go Greek Authors, Go! StarsHot as the Greek Summer and easy to read like a day on the beach, I almost wish I had saved this one for my summer vacation. Monica Mitchell is a girl on a mission...Get the job and prove herself to Greek tycoon/her stepfather's archnemesis/her stepbrother's best friend/former it's-too-much-complicated that she has grown and she can make any man proud to have as a PA or bride..Advantages: Alex Argiros has no freaking clue who she is. She succeeds and moreover, Alex falls in love with his capable young assistant. And the romance is hot as a sunny day in July .Disadvantages: If Alex remembers her or ever finds out just who she is, everything is ruined. And both will lose the love of a lifetime.I am very happy that I read this one and that it was actually written by a greek author who is trying to make an effort to succeed abroad. Go girl. The story might feel a little cliched at times, but it is enjoyable and the characters are well-written and fun to read. A good story that I read almost effortlessly and left me with a smile. There is even a clean version (I picked the spicy one of course.. :P) if you want to focus on other things other that how hot Alex is. But he is. Super hot!ARC provided by the author in exchange of an honest review.

I just finished it, and even though it's Christmas time and the reading hours were pretty limited, this story grabbed my attention from the beginning..I'm not gonna lie, i wasn't sure what to expect at first. But in the end i'm so satisfied with this book and its content, that my interest is highly picked for what will follow. The story revolves around two families with much bad blood surrounding them. Monica was in love with her stepbrother's best friend Alex, since the age of 8, maybe even before that. But for him, she will always be the little girl, repeatedly cappable of making herself a funny spectacle. Now at 24 and after a betrayal that left Alex's family and hers not on speaking terms anymore, Mon tries to achieve what she always wanted, working on his side and showing him how much she changed..To do that she has to hide her real identity and that's when the real story begins. Alex will lose his mind over her and she will finally have the man of her dreams. Or will she??THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK- I found quite interesting that there are 2 main editions of the book. One spicy and one clean.- All the secondary characters are well-centered and compeling. I absolutely want to read their stories..- The touch screen phone in 1998 reference, made me curious and a little uneasy, but i researched the issue and it turns out they were around commercialy since 1993..- Stephanos and Beth. I can't believe they are not together yet..- The first part was too graphic for my likings but not bothering so.- Dual POV.- I wanted some more flirting.- I liked the second part more.- The sunny summer that is so detailed in the book makes you wanna go for a quick swim.- But i'm still not so sure of how easily everything was forgiven.- I liked Jenny a lot. She was a little fireball.- Overall a little too much on the to lovey-dovey side, but i liked it. It's pure romance.- The writing is good and gripping. It has a more traditionally romantic vibe. ARC provided by the author in exchange of an honest review. Thank you!

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.I have to say i was over thrilled when the author approached me and asked me to read and review her book. Its not an everyday thing to come upon a Greek author. The book is well written with amazing characters that are emotional and strong and butt heads many times through out the book.Being Greek i can tell you that the way Athens and the islands are described in the book is to the spot!Despite the fact i was at home i could see my self walking down plaka and syntagma square along with the characters. The only thing i didn't like was that after the second chapter i knew what was going to happen (perhaps due to the amount of books i have read...) so in the rest of the book it was like someone was dragging out something i already knew.I might not know the how and when but i did know how it was going to play out.I found the story too long and at points dragging but at the same time it was full of emotional highs and sexual highs as well.I do not understand why people would want to read this story without the sex scenes but M.M Jaye has written a spice version and a soft version without the so forthcoming sex scenes (still don't understand why)Also another bummer for me was at the end of the book i read that the second story to come out would be Trish and Markos.....whyyyy??????I personally don't care much about Trish and Markos...we saw them for a short time in the book and there was nothing to trigger my interest in reading their story. In the other hand...Beth....Stephanos.....Now thats a story i can't wait to read. All in all for me this book could be much better.A 3.5 stars for MM Jaye and her Fate accompli

I know it says this edition is out of print but this is the edition I have on my Kindle. I heard about this book from a friend of mine who doesn't read romance. He raved about this book so I figured, since I love romance, I'd give it a shot. Set in the Greek Island, I was instantly transported and I never looked back. The setting, beautifully described, became a secondary character and sealed the deal for me. Sweeping romance, romantic setting, emotionally driven plot and authentic characters are just a few reasons why I highly recommend this book! I read the spicy edition but there's also a clean edition as well. Can't wait to read more from this talented author! My Rating: 5+ stars

How often can the spice be left out of a recipe without ruining the dish? How often does an author give readers TWO versions of their work and let people know they get it, not everyone wants the heat turned up to dangerous levels? Apparently, M.M. Jaye has her literary ear on the pulse of romance readers, because her character-driven tale of love, Fate Accompli has sigh-inducing sensual heat in one version and OMG, I’m going to faint heat in the other. How do I know? I read both, purely in the interest of full-disclosure rating, of course.Picture, as a child growing up, having a crush on your older brother’s best friend and managing to make a complete fool of yourself every single time he is around, in public. Sure, it happens, but did he have to be so nice about it? Did he have to be a knight in shining armor? Monica is all grown up now, brilliant, beautiful and she has her eyes on one job, being the assistant to the CEO of a powerful corporation in Greece, none other than her youthful heartthrob, Alex Argiros. She is determined to show him she is not the toilet-paper dragging little girl anymore. But, did he have to be so completely perfect? Did he have to look like a Greek God?Of course there are sparks, okay, Roman candles ready to flare, but a takeover is in the air and Monica’s older brother is now rumored to be behind it as boyhood friendships have become brutal rivalries in business. So, wouldn’t one think Monica should come clean about her family? She is mostly estranged from them, so why bother? But the webs we weave can entrap us in our worst nightmares, especially if her secrets are revealed by anyone but her. Forget the phrase, “Hell hath no fury like a woman…,” when Alex feels he has been connived and betrayed by the one woman he trusted, he digs deep and plans the perfect payback. But was he right about Monica? If not, what evil has he wrought on the woman who means everything to him? What will it cost them both? Two souls, each with their own pain, now split and unable to heal each other...Flat out, M.M. Jaye nails Fate Accompli, BOTH versions, with the expertise of a master! Gut-wrenching pain, hilarious humor, attitude and romance, neatly packaged against the beauty of Greece. Add some corporate machinations, guilt and the need for pure and simple love, and a beautifully told tale that flows smoothly as it winds its way to the end is born. No matter your heat level, one of these versions should be your next great read!I received BOTH the Spicy AND the Clean version from M. M. An excellent love story set in Greek landscapes of iconic beautyMonica Mitchell arrives in Athens for a job interview but she has a secret agenda too. Alex Argiros, the owner of the company, is someone who’s been haunting her thoughts since childhood after a couple of humiliating episodes that she had to suffer in his presence. By seeking to prove herself as a competent professional working for him, she’s really looking to redeem her lost confidence. She gets the job but soon finds out that seeking his approval is not enough; now she’s physically attracted to him as well, in a way that she cannot possibly resist. Complications ensue when they both succumb to their sexual desire, and what’s more, now Monica has to try harder to disclose her true identity. Being the stepdaughter of Alex’s greatest enemy, she dreads that her intentions will be misread should he find out who she really is.I was astounded by MM Jaye’s remarkable writing skills. The prose unfolds effortlessly, seamlessly, and generally reads like something an experienced author would write. Therefore, I was amazed that this is a debut novel. Another thing that surprised me greatly is MM Jaye’s proficient command of English despite being a native Greek speaker. This book is a true delight to read; not only because of the humor that had me laughing out loud (especially the eating scene under the desk but let me not say more and spoil it!), but also because of the freshness of the prose. MM Jaye seems to have a natural gift for bringing scenery to life and that’s a delightful advantage in a story that unfolds in rare corners of Athens that still maintain their old charm; not to mention the breathtaking Greek island of Alonissos. Fate Accompli is deliciously romantic, funny, sexy, and utterly believable. I found all the characters to be incredibly lifelike, tangible, as if they were people I knew in real life; real Athenians like me, living next door. MM Jaye knows her city well, its people, and the workings of the business world. This comes across very vividly and gives her novel the stamp of truth that is hard to resist, even if this genre is not someone’s favorite.I’ve read a fair share of women’s fiction and I find this book to be one of the best I’ve read in this genre. It has it all; romance, humor and a satisfactory ending, which MM Jaye delivers with incredible mastery. The secrecy, the guessing game, the sweetness of the romance and the sexual tension between the two main characters are tantalizing elements that had me hooked to the last page. Highly recommended! If you enjoy women’s fiction, this is an author to keep an eye on! Already looking forward to the next book in the series.

I read this book after the author contacted me here. I just finished reading and here my honest and hopefully beneficial review.*Title: It's alright, not eye catching though.*Cover: Love the Greek sunset-like colours, but again not eye catching.*Blurb: To the point and very intriguing.*Theme: Reminded me a combination of 'Ugly Duckling' and 'Romeo and Juliet'. *Ending: There is no cliffhanger!YAY!..The word satisfying comes first to mind (Don't expect spoilers in this review, boys & girls!)*Positive remarks:1. The writing. Very professional without being difficult to comprehend for the average reader. Easy to read.2. The characters. Even the secondary characters, without being something spectacular, were interesting and appealing. Made you wonder if the author will write their stories, too. So you could read more about them.3. The second half of the story. Sooo...much better for my taste, more eventful, fast paced and intense.4. The descriptions of the places in Greece makes you want to go and vacation there yourself.5. The sex scenes and chemistry between the couple (especially in the 2nd half) were very good.*Negative remarks:1. The first half of the book needed a little bit of work, always in my opinion. It felt like parts were missing.2. I would like MORE flirting between the couple and lines that make you giggle, again in the first half.3. Throughout the book there were some parts rample on about the emotions the characters felt in given moments.Thank you M.M. Jaye by trusting me to read your debut book and express my opinion about it. I only can assume how stressful that could be. You wrote a book that you should be truly proud of! I wish you all the best at the path you have chosen. May be full of success. Awaiting for your next book!

This is a novel in which the setting contributes greatly to the reading experience. It gives another layer to a love story that already has some underlying complications. Monica Mitchell is a strong female character with vulnerabilities that often show while she’s having that internal monologue. Though I find the writing quite engaging, there’s a lengthy exposition about herself early in the chapter, which takes away some of the intrigue and mystery. As a result, the excitement diminishes because there’s just a bit too much revelation so early in the story. As the story progresses, the hilarious bits emerge and it helps neutralize the overly sentimental moments. The comedic timing is just wonderful.Since this is the spicy version, there’s enough flirtations and steamy scenes that would rate mildly in the Scoville scale.

A second chance romance. Monica wants to prove to Alex, her childhood crush, she is a fully grown, composed woman. She wants to show him she is worthy of his love and adoration. Alex is astounded by his new personal assistant, Monica, but tries to stay away from her. Alex also believes Monica's family is out to ruin him and it becomes more difficult to reveal to him her true identity. Alex has pent up anger and takes it out on those around him, leaving him blind to what is really going on.I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Nowadays I'm so used to reading books set in North America, that when one comes along offering a dazzling Mediterranean back-drop, I know I must read it.Fate Accompli is a well executed debut novel by MM Jaye set in her home country of Greece. The author does an extremely good job of highlighting Athens and Greek Islands, leaving you with a longing to hop on a plane to sample the highlights of Greece in person.Monica aka Nikki grew up in her step-father's household from the age of two. A ruthless man in business with very little care or empathy for his trophy wife or her daughter, it is little wonder that Monica wanted nothing to do with Stavros Chrissos as an adult. After her mothers death, her step-father agrees to pay for her education, however Monica prefers to earn her own way in life; with scholarships covering her education and a determination to succeed, spawned all those years ago in Greece. Now sixteen years later, using her American birth name rather than her know Greek name, Monica is in Athens to attend an interview for the man that turned her eye as an eight year old child, when he was the teenage best friend of her step-brother, Stefanos. Only Alex Argiros, now CEO of Arger Enterprises can't know that she is the step-daughter of the man that nearly destroyed the business his father set up many years ago. When Alex and Monica meet, sparks fly! The spiciness of the writing is hot enough to generate a believable chemistry between the two protagonists without it being overly explicit. As the plot unfolds we are introduced to a number of supporting characters, notably Beth; Monica's best friend and Stefanos. Additional sub-plots and characters are included which I didn't think necessary. Whilst I understand the author's need to set a pictural scene when describing notable areas of Athens and The Aegean Coast, at other times is wasn't necessary. I'd have much preferred more dialogue and development between the characters instead, as some some of the scenes dragged on due to it being over descriptive.Considering English isn't the author's mother tongue, she has done a fantastic job of writing a beautiful love story. Mixing English and American words and spellings is the only giveaway, which wasn't distracting to myself. I'm surprised by the choice of couple chosen for the writer's next book, but my interest is piqued enough to read it as I patiently wait for Beth and Stefanos story. 3½ Stars ***arc received in return for an honest review***

I read the “spicy’ version of this story, and I think that I could have read the clean and been just as satisfied, M.M. Jaye brings memorable characters to the table, creating an intriguing story. The story was, to my surprise, very character driven: build them well, and they will come forward and draw readers into the story, making sure that they form allegiances with them, feel for them and cheer them on. Add to great characters you then fill the story with lush description and detail that instantly brings the setting alive: that unique light and color composition that is only found in the Mediterranean. While engaging, I wanted more flirting moments and less ‘emotional angst’ told about the characters, especially between Monica and Alex. Their body language and interactions told us their issues, after some brief history and I didn’t find those parts were particularly informative after the first round. I loved their flirting – some subtle, some outright in your face, and there was enough humor in words and situations to bring some giggles, further endearing their connection. The love scenes were hot and satisfying, with the emotional components coming forward to enhance the moments, but as I said before – this would have worked fine for me as a ‘behind closed door’ read. There are several secondary characters to intrigue, bringing appeal and personality to the story, with potential for further pairings in future installments. Well-written with only a few moments that missed, I enjoyed this romance: light and fun with plenty for readers to love. I received a copy of the title from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Fate Accompli is a quick and easy read. It would be a great book to take on vacation or even for a beach read in the summer. The chemistry is great and the spicy version is definitely spicy. Monica is a girl on a mission. She needs to prove herself to the one man she really shouldn’t care about. Alex is a Greek tycoon and she is determined to show him she can be a great assistant and someone’s wife. Monica is in the best possible position to show him because he has no idea who she is. The one thing she didn’t count on was falling for him, or him falling for her. Monica has to decide when to tell him that she is the one person he can’t stand. This book was interesting from the very beginning. The author wrote two versions of the book. A clean and spicy version. Either way the book is heavy on the romance. If you are not looking for a heavy lovey-dovey romance I would skip this one. But the characters were well written and I really loved the side characters. If they got their own stories I would read them. Some of the book is very cliché but the original parts makes it tolerable. You can look past the cliché a really get into these character’s love story.Overall the book was well written with well-developed characters. I enjoy the writing style and the story. I would definitely pick up the next book.

"Fate Accompli" by MM Jaye. What can I say? I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I thought it would be a typical romance story like so many others I have read. And, although it can be thought of as a-typical, Ms. Jaye did a phenomenal job of describing the scenery and feelings of the characters. As I read, I felt I was in Greece walking the streets, etc. At times, I felt the descriptions did take away from the interactions of the characters but not so much that it turned me off. I would have liked to gotten a bit more inside Monica and Alex's heads. However, the story progressed well and at a good pace. Of course, there was some angst between Monica and Alex as she was deceiving him as to who she truly was but the path to the end (not a cliffhanger, even though a second book is coming) was an enjoyable one. I did like both characters and at times, found myself chuckling and laughing out loud. Another wonderful thing that Ms. Jaye has offered her readings are two versions of this tale - a spicy one (which I read) and a clean one. Ms. Jaye, for a debut, this one rocks! First books can be a bit of a trial and error. Plus, I'm not much of a romance reader. So, I hope that MMJaye will forgive me if I confess to being a tad apprehensive when I picked up this book. I did so mostly based on the strength of her blog posts. I was in for a surprise treat! MMJaye is already a wonderful, mature writer. Everything in the book, from the expert pacing to the excellent proofreading, leads me to think she has drawers filled with unpublished works. I found myself hurrying through the book - not because the writing was bad, but because I had to find out what happened next! Oh well, that just means I have to read it once again, to properly enjoy her beautiful, flowing writing. Perhaps I'll read the spicy version this time. MMJaye has an expert eye for the minute detail that enlivens a scene, and peppers her pages with hilarious small moments that strike the perfect balance between humor and drama. Indeed, I'd go as far as to say that her writing sparkles like the Aegean Sea she's obviously so fond of.

A fascinating debut novel by MM JayeI loved the book! Fate Accompli is a fascinating novel that once you get started you just can’t put it down. The storyline was captivating and the characters so real they literally jumped out of the pages. Alex is smart, gorgeous, and successful—the ultimate male—and Monica is stunning, sweet, smart, and so stubborn. The descriptions were amazing, and the power of the characters’ emotions moved me deeply. Devouring one page after the other, holding my breath while riding on the roller coaster of their passionate but so rocky romance, I laughed and I cried. Believe me you don’t want to miss out on reading this jewel.

I actually read the "spicy" version of the book, which I don't think was very spicy at all. The book is well written and edited and the main characters and supporting cast are all likeable. It even had a twist that was totally unexpected. It's a great debut for the author. I know that the next book is about Monica's Trish and Alex's friend Markos, but I'm actually really looking forward to reading about Monica's friend Beth and her brother Stephanos - I have a feeling that their story is going to be great. eARC received in exchange for an honest review.
