This short story feels as if it could be excerpted from a larger storyline, but on its own, is a quick and easy cautionary tale. The scene appears to be in our future, but how far is anyone's guess. The characters are surprisingly well developed for the amount of time we get to spend with them. My only nitpick is that I'd like to see more of this universe, but there is no information to indicate if this will be explored further.

Oof! Where to start with this short story? I am not as familiar with short stories as I am with full length novels. However, for the length, this one is definitely packed with action. The setting is quickly sketched in, and the characters are firmly developed within the first two or three paragraphs. The problem is just as rapidly developed, and enough information is provided to allow the solution to be believable. The only down side? This is a fun, FAST read - a total of 9 pages according to my reader - and I devoured them. For those who are looking for an entertaining read over a lunch break, I would recommend this one if you like science fiction.

As usual Kelly writes with passion and depth. You never get enough and always want more, he develops the characters and plots that keep you turning the page until there is nothing left. I love how he weaves a tale and makes you apart of it.
