“Dear Woman,Sometimes you’ll just be too much woman.Too smart,Too beautiful,Too strong.Too much of something that makes a man feel like less of a man,Which will make you feel like you have to be less of a woman. The biggest mistake you can makeIs removing jewels from your crownTo make it easier for a man to carry. When this happens, I need you to understandYou do not need a smaller crown—You need a man with bigger hands.”love is an action word. If there are no actions that can prove the word, then the word itself is just a word This is what this book does to you:to find out why:

I was first turned to this book from a picture on Twitter, it was a picture of one of the pages, and that picture alone spoke to me in so many ways that I had to give he book a chance. I am so happy that I did, this book provoked so many thoughts that I have had but never dared to articulate. There are also many poems that I believe that I was in denial about some of the things that Mike talks about in Dear Woman. I did realize how much that I related to everything he was saying, he truly inspired me to be a better stronger woman for the future. Mike spoke directly to my heart and I would recommend this book to anyone that needs a little truth and inspiration in their life.

This book would've received five stars from me, if it wasn't for all of the grammatical errors. Reid brings up several valid topics for women of all ages and circumstances and challenges them to be better women. While some poems weren't particularly relevant to me, it was great to read the entire book, and refreshing to hear how much respect this man has for women. He urges women to own their voice, and never settle for less than they deserve.

This is an incredible book. It was a hard one to track down but I managed to find a hardcover through Amazon. I have been going through a rough time and the letters and inspirational segments are really what I have needed. It is a powerhouse of reminders of how a woman should view herself and live herself first. And there are parts where it admonishes women to stand up and stop putting ourselves the same places over and over. Love it! This is a keeper and a rereader.

A beautifully written, empowering book about the beauty of woman. Mike The Poet writes about the wonder and burden woman carry from the moment they are born, well past womanhood. He provides woman with his perspective through what his witnessed happen to the woman around him when it comes to love. Out of all the book two of his phrases stuck with me. “Love is an action sword. If there are no actions that can prove the word, then the word itself is simply a word”. And “You keep looking for the same version of an old love”. I myself loved the book and it made me think about past decisions and how it how affected my present. I would 100% recommend this book to any poetry lovers.

I couldn't get more than 20 pages into this book and I tried twice. There was so much hype around this book I was so excited to read it, but the numerous typos are just so off-putting and the content is mediocre at best.

A must read for every woman. P.s. is it only me who notice the grammatical errors here and there? This is a great book with great messages. I just wish the author would have had better editors.

I first heard about this book from a shared image picturing a page from the book on Facebook almost a year ago. The quote really resignated with me on a mind altering level, I vowed to eventually really it. I was unable to pick up a copy of the book at my local bookstore and library, so I decided to wait. While I was waiting I did some digging on the author and was blown away by what I found.During Black Friday this year, there was a sale on the book online and I decided to finally make my purchase. For so long I have thought about this quote and what it meant to me. I built the book up so high in anticipation. Now that I've finally read it, I feel as though I set myself up for a little disappointment. It wasn't as good as I had imagined it would be, but nonetheless it still remains an amazing work of literary art to me. Michael E. Reid challenges women to truly think outside of the box and love themselves for who they are. He presents a sort of reality check to your train of thought on how you view yourself and what you should and should not accept in terms of what a man can bring to the table. As I read through the pages, certain scenarios and insights he dived into would have helped me out tremendously in my past relationships. I wish I had this book when I was younger, but I am glad that I finally read it when I did- I'm going through a chapter of my life where I am okay with being alone, relationship wise, and I am focused on bettering myself and advancing in my career. The key term here is "okay," I am finally in a good place in my life where I believe I do have something incredible to offer to someone else, but at the end of the day it does get lonely and it makes you question whether or not you're ever going to find someone to share it with. Reading his book, it helps me put a halt to those depressing negative thoughts and justify my decision to wait until the right person comes along to prevent me from settling for something less than I desire or deserve.Going back to the quote that won my heart:"Dear Woman, Sometimes you will just be too much woman.Too smart, Too beautiful, Too strong.Too much of something, That makes a man feel like less of man,Which makes you feel like you have to be less of a woman. The biggest mistake you can make, is removing jewels from your crown to make it easier for a man to carry. When this happens, I need you to understand,You do not need a smaller crown- you need a man with bigger hands."So thank you Michael E. Reid, I will wait for the man with bigger hands.

I had my eye on this book for the longest so when it went on sale for $5.00 I jumped on it and I was not disappointed in the least. At first it seemed like he was a carbon copy of Bereola (author of GentleWoman: Etiquette for a lady, from a Gentleman) and in some chapters I still say it was a little too familiar but after the beginning his authentic voice shined through and I loved it. Even tho I am happily married Dear Woman touched on many of the things I encountered when I was single and I wish I had found it much sooner in life...this book is for women who have been through it all. I would gift this to any woman I know and as a matter of fact I plan to gift this book to all of the young women in my family even if they haven't gone through some of the situations yet I think this book will empower any woman that reads it regardless of relationship/marital status. There is truly something for every woman in this book that has ever been in love or been broken by love.

He really helped put into words some of the topics I know I needed to tell myself, for I just didn't know how. Holding on to this book for a long time.
