ARC provided by the author for an honest review ... these are my thoughts :)Second Chance Summer is my first read by Marie Carnay and I am impressed!!This is not just any second chance romance. It's a story about a girl coming to term with who she is and the boys who help her realize it.Summer Crenshaw, Blake Turner and Devin Rogers were the best of friends until one night when it all changed. Four years ago, they had a night of unbridled passion between them that left a lasting mark on each of their hearts. But Summer ran and she ran fast! Her young, insecure mind got the best of her and she ran as far away as she could without looking back. But she never forgot and she never stopped wishing ... and neither did Blake & Devin.Today, Summer's best friend Mandy is getting married so she's back in Midnight Cove. She's not young and naive any more, but she's got a lot of baggage and expectations and insecurities that are fueled by her mother. Summer's not happy where she is in life but she feels powerless to change it ... until Blake & Devin walk back into her life.Summer's journey was truly heartwarming to read. Marie Carnay made it so easy to read, that I never put it down once I started. She pulled me in with her style. Her prose was inviting and fun and the story had just the right amount of drama. The obstacles in Summer's path were Summer herself. And the story made sure to focus on that. Yes, there was small town drama thrown in and small-minded drama thrown in and even a little whoa, wait, what?.... thrown in, but none of it took away from the focus of Summer finding her inner self and grabbing on to the future she deserved with Devin and Blake. Although it may seem on the surface that some things were left unresolved and some were wrapped up a little to quickly and neatly, I believe the reason behind that is not bad writing, but quite the opposite. Marie made a choice to focus on Devin and Blake and Summer and their HEA instead of dwelling on the outside drama. In my opinion, it was a choice well made. Not everything has to be spelled out in a story. It can drag a story out and take focus away from the main plot. Well done Marie.PS ... The heat level to this story was scorching hot. The book is worth a read just for the sex alone #TRUST ;)

This was the first book I have ever read by Marie Carnay. While I liked the story itself, I had trouble with the heroine. I can get that being attracted to two men is not necessarily the norm for most people. However, the way she spent so much time whining and moaning over the situation, I just couldn't really understand the attraction that Blake and Devin had for Summer. I would have preferred her to be at least a little stronger of a character, instead of always whining and running away.ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Quite enjoyable contemporary MFM with second-chance theme. Drama, but no kink (really, 3somes are kinky enough for my liking!). Now I want to read the rest of the series and other novels by MC.If only it wasn't for the atrocious grammar (those are not typos!). Someone get that author a dictionary, please...E.g. "her eyes shown with [...] light" = shone; "he back peddled" = back pedaled (that one had me actually LOLing); and several instances of "who's" instead of genitive "whose" - argh! That was enough to bring down my rating from 4 to 2 stars, sorry-not sorry.I received this via instafreebies.

Summer Crenshaw, Blake Turner and Devin Rogers were the best of friends until one night when it all changed. They ended up having a night of passion so intense that burned them to the point that the aftereffects left marks for years to come. Summer ended up running and getting away from her boys –she didn’t know what games they were playing with her so she ran. In her head she felt like she wasn’t good enough for them yet she wanted them so bad and she never stopped wishing for him in her heart; and as we read, never did the boys. Now, fast forward to today, Summer's best friend Mandy is getting married and so Summer is coming home to Midnight Cove. She is not as young as she was 4 years ago, nor is she as naïve like she was when she was there years before. Summer is not happy where she is in her life right now and she wishes things were better but she doesn’t know what to do to make her life better until the moment a blast from the past literally walks up to her.. and those blast are Blake and Devin.Summer goes on this journey in the book that takes her from this woman who goes from not feeling good in her own skin with sexuality to by the time this book is over, she is able to feel confident in own skin with sexuality , and she wasn’t going to sit back and let others put her down anymore and sit back and accept it like she used to.By the end of the book, she is happy and confident in being Devin and Blake’s lover, happy to work on her art, and she didn’t care what anyone thought about her anymore.. This is about a woman’s journey in life and the paths she took to where she is today and the men that go with her on this journey. Blake is so head over heels in love with Summer and he was willing to go the extra mile to give her anything she wants. He would be dominant when the situation needed it but sensitive when Summer also needed it. What a delicious man—Devin is just as delicious because he was the silent but sexy type. He brought different things to the relationship. He was a sexy, Alpha type male who didn’t hesitate to make Summer do what he/they needed. When they are all together, it is something fierce like coming together. Their relationship is beautiful and I enjoyed reading this book because there were some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming but in the end the HEA was wonderful. I cannot wait to see what the author has planned for next.*A gifted copy was provided by the author for my honest review*My rating: 4.7 stars *****

    * I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review*When I first viewed the description for this book, I wasn't so sure that it would appeal to me. But since I am a lover of most romance, I am open minded, and love a good adventure, I decided to give it a try. That being said, this was a super steamy, heartfelt romance between three best friends and in this story, three is not a crowd. I loved reading Second Chance Summer, the characters were realistic and well developed along with a unique story line. I do have to warn you, this is not your grandma's type of romance. When embarking on this journey, be prepared for friendship, off the charts sexual chemistry and lots of romance. Summer, Devin and Blake will sweep you away with their capacity for passion and love for one another.Summer has been gone from Midnight Cove for four long years after having run away from an unforgettable night of passion with two of her best friends Blake and Devin. She is back in Midnight Cove to celebrate her friend Mandy's wedding and does not expect to have Devin and Blake come crashing back in her life. It just wasn't right for her to want two men to caress her and fulfill her every desire and she was going to resist them this time. That is until she sees these two hunk of men half dressed, even more manly and sexier than ever. She knew immediately that she was in trouble. As the story progressed, I loved watching Summer grow as woman, who was more confident in her sexuality and was not willing to conform to what others thought of her. She is vibrant, passionate about life and art, and is not afraid to let anyone know of her love for Devin and Blake.Blake is the man that I first gave my heart to in this story. He was hopelessly in love with Summer and cherished everything about her. I do have to say his ability to let his passion for Summer run away with him wherever and whenever desire strikes him was oh so sexy! He was commanding when it counted and let his tenderness show at other times. Devin was just as delectable, he was more silent and broody but equally as sexy when taking charge of a situation. Him and Blake know how to love a woman deeply and fiercely both in and out of the bedroom. This love story was sensual and had a profound message that love comes in many different forms and we should grab a hold and never let it go. I highly recommend to readers who love sexy menage scenes and love with no boundaries. It is sure to pique your curiosity and keep your heart pumping.

Overall Stars: 5 STARSM/F/MHot Alpha There's only so far one person can run until they succumb to their desires and their heartsSummer never thought she'd see Blake or Devin again. When she stumbles into the wrong dressing room on the eve of her best friend's wedding, everything changes. They might have shared one night of fiery passion, but she's vowed to put it behind her. Even if her heart disagrees.Blake's lived with the memory of one night for four years--a few unforgettable hours tangled up with Summer and Devin and a glimpse at heaven. When Summer leaves her New York life for a weekend in Midnight Cove, it's their second chance. They've got one weekend to convince her their unconventional love is just what she's been missing. (Amazon blurb)Summer has more restraint than I could ever have: the temptation of two incredible men whose only goal is to bring THE ultimate pleasure over and over to one woman! What a godsend!!! Four years later, Blake and Devin still can't forget the one night with Summer that changed their lives; the night that they fell in love with their friend and now they hope in a weekend they can make her believe in love once more. In a love that will include the two of them. From the very first page I was hooked, knew I was a goner and that Marie Carnay is now one of my favorite authors and on my to be read and bought lists. I loved the dynamics between the characters, the different aspects of relationships - the friendships, the business partnerships, the family -, the sexual tensions, which I must guiltily admit that I may have reread certain parts two or three times because they were just that good. My review might be short, I'm sure that I've covered just about everything, Marie Carnay captivated my attention from the beginning and I kept coming back for more hoping the story would get better and better - and it did. What's next from this author? I sincerely hope they are as good if not better as Second Chance Summer. . **Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.  Read and reviewed by Kathleen for Alpha Book Club**

ARC given in exchange for an honest review **New author alert** This is a new author for me and I have to say I wasn't disappointed reading this story. The author knows how to draw you into the story and keep you focused. I loved reading this book and enjoyed it. This is a M/F/M with some hot and steamy going on. So many emotions run through this book and make it seem real. When Summer comes back to Midnight Cove for her best friend's wedding, memories of 4 years ago come back and she remembers what Blake, Devin & her did. She has missed those guys so much but knows nothing will come of it now. She is an artist (painter) and living in New York due to her mother's wishes but also because 4 years ago she left the only two men that she loved. Now being back in Midnight Cove Blake & Devin will stop at nothing to win back Summer and pick up where they left off. Only now secrets may keep them apart and Summer may leave Midnight Cove for good. Blake & Devin fell in love with Summer before she left Midnight Cove and haven't stopped thinking of her since. When they know that she will be back in Midnight Cove that is when they decide that they will do anything to have her back. They work out a plan to win her over and get a second chance with her. Only the night of her best friend's wedding, things go downhill due to a secret that they were hiding from her. This book is filled with so much and a good plot. Overall it was a truly an amazing story and one that will stick with you. The love that is formed between the characters is so real, you can feel it. I highly recommend this book. Great job to the author.

I have to say this is one very good book. Marie Carnay always has a way with words and her menages are always some of the best in my opinion. In this book Summer has returned to Midnight Cove to be maid of honor for her best friend Mandy. Mandy kinda forgot to tell her that she would be escorted down the aisle by not one but two hunks who she knew very well Blake and Devin. At one time they were thick as thieves, the musketeers and they even shared one one wonderful night of love together before Summer ran away out of town. Now 4 years later the the guys were tired of waiting and they wanted to see if they could make the three of them work. They love her and deep down they know she loves them too BUT and a Big ole BUT she has some hurtles to over come. One is her meddlesome mother. Summer is an artist and her mother has decided to tell Summer what kind of art to paint and where to show it and what galleries to send it too. YEP a Mother with a stick up her butt. Then you have the fact that a triad is not something that is common place. Throw in the fact that there are a few hidden secrets you will discover once you read the book and you will see all is not cut and dry in Midnight Cove. If ever I was rooting for one person to get the guy or guys in this book it is Summer. This story line is so well written. You can see the pictures as Marie Carney describes they when Sumner is painting them. You see the ocean as it moves in and out to sea. I am looking forward to more from this little town Hopefully IAN's story......I received an advanced copy for an honest review! I LOVED IT

Stumbling into the wrong dressing room changes everything for Summer when she runs into the two men she vowed to put behind her no matter how much her heart disagrees in this captivating ménage romance.Blake and Devin got a glimpse of heaven and then Summer ran to New York leaving them behind and the reader can’t help but get caught up in this threesomes second chance at happiness. The chemistry sizzles with breathtaking intensity and the sex scenes are hot and steamy but this relationship has some major hurdles to overcome which has lots of emotional turbulence flowing from the pages as Summer has lots of insecurities and doubts to overcome. The characters are strong, compelling and capture the heart while the steady to fast paced plot flows smoothly with suspense, turmoil and romance.Tension builds throughout the story as opposition in the form of family, friends and rivals get in the way of this romance but the tension builds to heightened proportions when it becomes obvious that the town of Midnight Cove knows something that Summer doesn’t and this secret could send her running for the hills once again. The scenes are well written with vivid details that make it easy for the reader to get caught up in the story and relate to the characters while the intriguing plot draws the reader in and refuses to let go.The author has created a wonderful setting that inspires romance, hope and happiness and the first book which is a sweet but emotional second chance at that happily ever after is a great start to the series as I was completely caught up in Summer and her men’s romance from the beginning, so I can’t wait to read the next story.

Summer is back to help her best friend get married and doesn't expect to see her old friends and lovers Blake and Devin. She left four years ago after a menage with them. None of them have really moved on and Blake and Devin plan on getting a second chance with Summer.Summer is very controlled by her mother. She is an artist in NYC and deeply unhappy but trying to make her mother proud. She worries about appearances and thinks people will treat her badly for being involved with two men. It is hard for her to resist them especially when they keep tempting her. Blake and Devin are in business together and live together as well. Blake is more open and honest and direct about his feelings. Devin broods and hides a little more especially from things that might cause an issue. While they are willing to share, you get the impression they would prefer to have her to themselves. They are all still fairly young and you do want to grow up a little and be smarter about their decisions. They need to be more honest with each other and share their concerns. Summer in particular is too focused on what others think and would rather please them than be happy. She does grow wiser as the story continues.I really like menage stories and this one is well written. It is honest about some of the difficulties faced in these types of relationships both internally and externally. It is not just sex for the characters. There is a real friendship and desire for a relationship which makes the story much sexier to me.I received a copy in return for a honest review.

beware of spoilers***the end was terrible. she finds out the men she is in love with slept with her best friend and no one told her. Then she decides it's ok and stays with the men and forgives them all?? I'd be much to angry to just say ok and jump back in bed with them.

Only got to chapter 5, she was too damn whiney and wimpy too continue ;(Dear Lord those two men deserved W A Y Better than her!!! Missing her and wanting that whiney and very very wimpy beyotch for four years and the finally getting that hot mess into bed again and does that blessed and lucky beyotch appreciate getting another chance with Blake and Devin ? No she runs away like the immature child she is,she's living a life she doesn't enjoy trying too foolishly please a mother she doesn't even seem to like and continuing to run from two great guys sexy or not as patient and carry no as they are after last time she should be thrilled their still willing to give her the time of day much less want her back in their bed... Ok ,I know a story has to has some conflict to make it a story and to make it interesting, Ok sure... But a wimpy and whiney immature "heroine" who's problems aren't something much problems as excuses because doesn't honestly love herself or the poor sweet wonderful men enough to fight for what she wants... Heck I don't think she knows what she wants, but she didn't seem sorry for anything she'd put them through and I couldn't watch Blake and Devin fight for and be continue to be hurt by a female who honestly didn't deserve them... A good M/F/M menage can be hard to find, but in my menage fantasies I DONT'TSHARE MY MEN!!!! Not even with each other .... But this was depressing to read and I'm off to delete.....

Summer returned to Midnight Cover for Mandy's wedding. She hadn't been back since that one summer four years before. Running into Blake and Devin again was to much. All that summer they were best friends until the night with both of them. Summer had to run to New York who dated to men at the same time and they were best friends. What would people think? Devin and Blake always considered Summer the one that got away. They both wanted her and were willing to share as long as it was the three of them together. Blake and Devin want to convince Summer to give them another chance. But will a big secret keep her from staying. Loved the characters, Summer having to deal with a mother like she had, no wonder she found it hard to go outside the norm. No matter how she really felt about Blake and Devin. Blake and Devin would do anything to get a second chance with Summer. After all these years they still knew she was the one for them. Convincing her would take some work. Helping her remember how it was between them back then will help. I was kind of with Summer when the big secret came out, I would have had a hard time for forgiving them. Some things are hard to forget even if it wasn't intentional. But I am a sucker for second chance romance. Well written and the flow of the story was steady. I received and arc in exchange for an honest review.

Received this book for an honest review.Second Chance Summer is the first book I have read by Ms. Carnay and I had no expectation other than to enjoy the book. I enjoyed this book. and was pleasantly surprised to find it a well written story. Literally it had a storyline not just a bunch of sex scenesDevin and Blake were guys that were not looking for a ménage lifestyle but when it came their way they decided to explore it. Rocky does not even beginning to describe their trip to happiness. Secrets are revealed and not by them. Now the female lead character made me want to slap her. She came off as weak, immature and so insecure that she did not stand up for herself. Always trying to please her mother who was never satisfied and the risk of her own happiness. The belittling of her looks and the comparison to the skinny women grated with me. The character did finally grow on me when she took control then she blossomed. If you want to enjoy a love story then this is the book to read.

After 4 years of hiding out in NYC, Summer finds herself back in Midnight Cove for her best friend’s wedding. While there, She runs into Blake and Devin, two surfers who had been her best friends and the reason she ran off after an explosive night. Now that she’s back for the weekend, Blake and Devin have decided they are going to show her how they feel and make her see she shouldn’t run away again. Summer does a lot of growing through the book. She goes from a struggling artist completely ruled by her mother to a woman finally doing what she wants to do with people she loves. This was a really good read. The author did a great job in building up the characters. The story flowed at a good pace. The scenes were HAWT. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**

“Second Chance Summer” was pretty good, though I felt like it wasn’t as smooth as it could have been. I got annoyed with the female character at certain points because she was repeating the same emotions. The men however were amazing. You could tel that they really wanted her, but four years ago they made a mistake and decided to leave it in the past..except the secret was close to coming out wether they liked it or not. Marie Carney once again did a great job with keeping the pace and storyline upbeat and on track. I love that their was a hit of mystery on the sidelines, but still having the story focused on the three main characters.

Will Summer run once again or will she finally have a reason to say? Will her men fight for her this time or will they let her slip through their fingers once again?

I enjoyed this book. I like menage stories, although I do actually prefer a full three way. Both male characters, Blake and Devin were very likeable most of the way through and I did like Summer, at times she seemed a bit immature and she was definitely more focused on how others perceived her and because of this it made her scared to live for herself. However, she turned out to be extremely forgiving because once the big secret is revealed, although hurt and upset initially, she forgave both men and her best friend Mandy. I consider myself to be a tolerant and forgiving person but I would not entertain doing so if I was hurt in the same manner. Overall it was a good story and I would recommend it and I'd read this author again.

A very well written story. Summer, Blake, and Devin had a one night stand. Four years later she walks in on them changing for her best friends wedding rehearsal. Embarrassed and unsure of herself she makes excuses and leaves to find her friend. During the time she is there for the wedding she allows herself a second time with them. They have not forgot her or stopped loving her. Can she overlook their big secret when its revealed and can she get over her own insecurities? You'll have to read the book to find out. I will definitely be adding this author to my must read list!I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I was not compensated in any way.

I received this book from the author in return for an honest review. This is another winner from Marie Carnay. Even though it is a menage and has lots of steamy hot sex scenes, that is not the whole book. It is a wonderful love story. Second chances, or maybe even third chances in this case, can turn out to be the best thing to happen to you. When friends, Blake, Devin, and Summer spend one night together, Summer runs to NYC. After 4 years, the three of them are back for a friend's wedding, and everything heats up between them again, but it is still not happily ever after. Can Summer forgive and accept both of these wonderful, sexy men in her life? I recommend that you purchase this book to find out.

This book has all the elements of an unputdownable read, it is an MFM menage romance with sizzling sex scenes and plenty of humour throughout. ….it tells the heart-warming story of an unfulfilled artist named Summer and her 1st experience of a menage relationship with surfers Blake and Devin who she had put behind her when she panicked and ran from them to New York. Summer meets Blake and Devin again 4 years later when she returns to Midnight Cove to be bridesmaid at her best friends wedding and is faced with all her unresolved feelings and desires as she dares to take her second chance at love with the 2 men who have never been able to forget her.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and reading about their emotional journey towards love and trust and would highly recommend this read!

This is a full length book with no cliffhangers , and it's full of romance and hope. The story sets with three people Summer, Blake, and Devin. Best friends, that is until something happens between them. They indulge in one hot night of steamy sex. This seems to completely tear them apart. Summer can't ever see them again, and she does just that until her friends wedding. They end up all together again, with Blake an Devin trying to help her see what her needs are, and to face her fears. You'll have to read it to find out if she can give herself and them what she desires or run away forever.

Received an ARC for an honest review. This is my first book by Marie Carnay and I have to say I have added her to my must read authors. I really enjoyed this story. I was pleasantly surprised that at times I was not sure where this story was going. Even though it was a menage story, I had moments where I wondered whether Summer was going to wind up with one of the two guys who fell in love with her, both or no one at all. If you enjoy menage stories this is definitely one you do not want to miss. Great job Marie!

One curvy chick, and two hot surfers, can't go wrong can you? I tried to get into the book. There was so much doubt about them being together, I just couldn't get into it. I didn't connect with the characters. I tried and tried. I gave up about 32% in. I skimmed the book.Summer. Blake and Devin what a sexy combo. Wished there was also a point of view from Devin. The fights between summer and ivy were a tad crazy. Story line worked, but the just never connected. I'd keep my distance from the mom too!

OMG this book is AMAZING!!! I couldn't put it down! I love all of Marie Carnay's novellas and I was THRILLED to have a full length novel by her! And this book lives up to the phenomenal read I expect from her. It was so wonderful, so romantic, so HOT SEXY and STEAMY!!! I just loved this book so much and I look forward to reading anything Marie writes. I received an ARC copy of this book for my review and I HIGHLY recommend it...and I will definitely have to read it was THAT GOOD!!!
