It's finally here. The glorious end of the Lorien Legacies. And holy bloodydamn goryhell, how far this series has come from its beginnings in I Am Number Four. More than any of its predecessors, United As One is dark and intense and unremitting in its pulse-pounding action. It's the Mockingjay or Deathly Hallows of this series, by which point it's all-out war, and everyone's out for blood.Including our heroes. Including our perennial Boy Scout, John. Now he knows how Marina feels, having lost his first love forever, and like many of us poor fans, he's not recovered. He's permanently damaged by this, more than any physical battle scar he'll ever get.Meanwhile, there are ever more human Garde popping up all over the planet - most of them teenagers, of course. One has to wonder, why teenagers? Because, as some of our favorite Garde come to suspect over the course of this harrowing final novel, perhaps the last of the Loric species won't be enough to stop Setrakus Ra (come on, you didn't think that Satanic piece of shit was really dead at the end of Book 6, did you?)And if the remaining Loric Garde aren't enough, well, that's what the new human Garde are for. They could form the next generation of the resistance if the Loric fail - and that's what really sells this book, because the darkness is so thick that eventually you start to doubt that there'll be a happy ending. No spoilers, though. If you're like me, you won't be able to put this book down. I read the entire thing in one sitting, it was that amazing. As I said before, this one really ramps the action up to an all-time high, and employs the series' signature move of jumping to the other POV (this one, for the first time since Book 2, contains only two POVs, John and Six) and leaving the previous chapter on a nasty cliffhanger to perhaps its greatest effect since at least The Fall of Five.I'm convinced that this book is going to be one of my end-of-year Top 5 winners at the Second Annual Pinecone Awards, certainly beating out such contenders as The Inquisition, Morning Star, Glass Sword, and even Lady Midnight. Perhaps it'll even top the list, although Marie Lu's Midnight Star won't make it easy.Ave atque vale, Lorien Legacies. And to Hollywood, I say only this - it's a crime that only the first book got a much-deserved (and criminally underrated) movie adaptation. A rebooted movie series is in order, desperately. And may that reboot be every bit as stylish and killer-cool and pitch-perfect as, say, The Amazing Spider-Man or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I am not fucking extinct,” growls Nine.Seven years that I've been into this series, it gives me something that I couldn't figure out until now. I just know I love Lorien Legacies wholeheartedly even if The Power of Six and The Revenge of Seven are not my cuppa. Yet every character is a part of my life and I don't want to let it go, no matter what. Nine is always my boy. And I want to see smile on John's face for one last time.Anyway, when I picked this book up, I didn't expected to meet its unexciting ending and I had no idea about the excruciatingly pace either. I mean - this was good, as good as a book can be, but I wish it would be epic and mind-blowing, not unbelievably prolong and predictable like this. There is one difference between the table I built here and the table used by the Elders. I didn’t carve nine specific spaces in the wood. There’s no spot for Loridas, or Setrákus or Pittacus. There aren’t even nine chairs. There’s as many as we need there to be, more than enough room. And if it gets too crowded, we can squeeze.I’m done with numbers. This book was dragged in the first half, nothing happens more than Satrakus goes into hiding to lick his wound and John learn to master his new Ximic power. Compared with The Fate of Ten, this book is pallid in my opinion. I want those actions and heart-wrenching scenes back.I am in love with John and Nine, even Adam and Five. But you know ? I have one issue with The Fate of Ten and I've been holding on since then. (view spoiler)[Lore shouldn't make Sarah die in the previous book. If he still insisted, I thought this book was more proper to let that happen. (hide spoiler)] Plus, I felt sunken all the time because of it and other things. I think United as One should be more than this, should be more than these folks plan their counterattack and steal the ships. By the way, this is a perfect conclusion to the series I've been following for almost seven years. Although it rather disappointed me, but I am okay with it because I AM NUMBER FOUR is my youth and a piece of me.More at http://goo.gl/fNe2SjHighly recommended !["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I think this is not the last time we're going to read a book about the Garde.I swear Pittacus Lore is brewing something...Annnnd to end it like that? Those bottles of black oils...Then John giving the human Garde the chimaeras...Or its just me making excuses. I don't know. But I know lots of you guys wants more, like me.*WARNING*BUNCH OF SPOILERS.Though mostly comments.- I have to admit I shed a few tears. Gosh!- Just Damn! There's so many scenes/parts I would never in my life I'll read. Pittacus Lore just surprised me the best way.- Totally no predictable scenes. Just go with the flow.- I actually re-read all the previous Lorien Legacies book before reading UAO. I thought I was preparing myself... Gosh! It did not work.- So many deaths.I felt mostly sad and bad for what happened to those poor kids (Human-Garde) that were captured. THey were not prepared for that! Well, I am also furious. I hate you Setrakus Ra!And Adam... *sob* (SPOILER) I cried with him. Poor Dust.-Speaking of Adam... he survived that chasm... The question is... did Phiri-fucking-Dun Ra/The Bitch is really dead. I just hate her. She's Augmented, a freak... chances are she's alive. I'm praying she's not. (PRESENT, I honestly believe that there's going to be another Lorien books.)-What have you done to Nine? After reading 'that' part, I took a few minutes of breather. That happened after another something freaky 'moment'. I literally did not have a time to process that then Nine happened. Its like nukes blowing off simultaneously. *fanning my face*-Dear John, Not the Taylor Swift song. But yeah.I still think it's cold for not healing Five. He did not deserve that. I am not saying you should forgive him... I'm just saying that you should heal him. Maybe if you do that he can do amazing things he is after all an original Garde. Maybe after healing him you can just go on your own separate ways... And also, me writing this to you doesn't me I forgive him for mercilessly killing Eight and all of those other things.-John... of course he's Pittacus Lore! He could freaking heal himself. When Six saw him just lying there... well lets just say that my nose was wet. (Eeew)-Is it bad to feel relieve that Sarah is really dead? I never liked her. I think that sounded so evil.-Mark, his death... it was totally unnecessary.-Dear Pittacus Lore, the author,Are you James [email protected]

Mini review:It's not all that surprising that I rated this 2 stars. Ever since The Fate of Ten I was starting to lose interest in this series. I found the writing style to be plain and a majority of the characters to be annoying. I especially did not like the direction this series was going. This book was not much better than The Fate of Ten. The new characters didn't really play that big of a role. They were irrelevant in a way. The pace was really off. And the ending was anticlimactic. By the end of this book some of the characters are happy and are living awesome lives and the other characters futures left a bitter taste in my mouth. The only characters that I liked were Nine, Six, Walker, Sam, and Adam. I really did not like Seven and John. Mark was rather annoying in this book. I felt indifferent to Five and Ella. There were some parts that I enjoyed. It was interesting to see the ending and how everything changed. And how far some of the characters have come. I don't recommend this series.

I have some issues with it. I mean, it's so rarely that a book or anything meets our expectation, so somehow I knew that this series wouldn't be so different. But still, I couldn't have asked for a better ending. Goodbye to yet another great series.

4.5Whoa this series was one long, crazy ride! I have to say I was somewhat disappointed with the the slow pace in this last book, and didn't really like how it all wrapped up, but this is still such an insane series and I love all these characters so much and it's so weird that it's over.

"I'm not fucking extinct" - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -I've had to say goodbye to a heap of series this year. I mean, so many things are ending in 2016, and the one thats making me the saddest to see go is this goddamn alien book. But I love it so much, and it's been with me for so long. And I can't believe it's over. I can't believe I have to say goodbye to John and Six and Nine and Five and Adam and Marina and Sam and Malcolm and Lexa and BERNIE KOSAR. I'll miss them all so much, this series is so good. (I literally don't care what any review says this series is SO GOOD) This book picks up a bit after the ending of the Fate of Ten. The gang is quickly reunited and begin to plan their big attack on Setrakus Ra ( bc, duh, that asshole didn't go down aT ALL after FOT) Immediately this book was action packed. This thing is action, action, action the whole way through. It had some INCREDIBLE scenes of mayhem and destruction and SUPERPOWERS that made my trash heart sing. This book is like superpower porn ( my fav kind of porn) Some of the action scenes were ... so good. I mean, I'm used to high quality action scenes - this series has given me so, so many. And still they've managed to be topped off here. I MEAN HECK ! THESE SCENES HAD ME REELING (view spoiler)[- John's big attack on the Mogs? a m a z i n g.I was SCREAMING @ old Johhny Boy likeomg the way he just went out there and totally wrecked the Mogs I was !!!!!!! kid ur in toodeep and scaring me but also omg you're so incredible - Throwdown between Five and John ? *fans self*THAT SCENE WAS SO GOOD ! and itactually got me for 1 hot minute I was a bit confused about Five's intentions and !! I cannotbelieve but it was the fight, the throwdown we all had to see and it was so goof- THE PHIRI DUN RA AND FIVE FIGHT OH MY GODWHEN FIVE CAME OUT 2 SMAHS HERI WAS !!!! my son MY SON it was so cool so so cool- Basically the whole scene with the Mog's in West Virginia, actually- THE FINAL SHOWDOWN WITH PHIRI AND ADAM AND SIXSO COOL. I loved to seeAdam fight, loved to see Six fight. Both of them got rekt and I WAS IN DISTRESS but it was areally nice scene - THE !!!!!!! SETRAKUS FIGHT. !! it was everything. I was waiting for this fight for 7 books, the final showdown, the Harry vs Voldermort of the series and boy ! so good. I was a little :/about it because I was ?? heck, Johns ximic makes this too easy but OH NO it wasn't easy atall. I REALLY THOUGHT FIVE WAS A GONER and when Nine lost his arm I WAS YELLING Nineis my fav so that was NOT a good time for me. But omg !?! that their healing killed him SOUNEXPECTED. That Marina worked it out ! ? blessing. And omg the fact six did the final dirtydeed SO BEAUTIFUL so poetic I loved it I LOVED IT.- Six .. when ... sh .. e .... saw John after the fight /cries/.I thought he was dead and Iwas like no no no no THIS IS BECOMING ALLEGIANT I didn't like it. So glad he didn't die. Ilove John honestly "he's so boring" blah blah idec your fav could never compare (hide spoiler)]okay. Had to get some emotions out. We're back online with the coherent review.I loved that this book included so many of the scenes that make a final book feel right I mean, there are just some cliches I love to see in a final book and I got a fair few of them in United as One and I loved it. I loved the comparison scenes, with the Garde recognising their power now versus what they were like then. I loved the comparisons made between the Human Garde now and what the Loric were like when they first started developing legacies. I loved the scene when John muses about how 1 piken nearly killed him and Six in Ohio, and how coming up against 3 alone now doesn't even faze him. I'm such a sucker for the "chosen one" trope and the "I was weak, but now I'm strong" trope so honestly this book gave me everything my trash trope loving heard desired. I had some issues with the end, admittedly. Actually, issues isn't the word. The ending wasn't bad, it was fine. But I wish it was MORE. I was disappointed there wasn't more emotional payback in the epilogue. I feel like it's been set up for a possible sequel later, which I'd be on board with. I just wish there'd been MORE from each character, especially Six and Sam. I don't know, it was a weird way to have to say goodbye to them all. But overall I loved this book so much. When I begam reading this I never realised how much it'd grow on me. I DONT EVEN CARE ABOUT ALIENS. BUt I care about these aliens. I'm so glad my fave (view spoiler)[NINE MY SON (hide spoiler)] made it through. I'm gonna miss this series so much ! I loved these books, loved the characters, loved the romances, loved the action scenes, loved the development of the characters, loved the fights, loved the worldbuilding, loved the banter and the quips. I love it so much, LORIC ARE MY FAVOURITE ALIENS. Thanks @ the world for giving me this #bless. So sad to see them all go. ACTUAL RATING 4.5 !

Words can’t describe how happy I am that this ride is finally finished. This series hit rock bottom and I’m not sad to watch it go. Lorien Legacies had potential, but the writer’s lack of skill and imagination ruined it all. The final book is usually the one with most action and excitement, but we got neither. This book was dragged in the first half, nothing happens besides the usual stuff - Setrakus Ra goes into hiding and John learn to master his new power. Garde plan their counter strike and to try to steal the ships. Basically, it’s the plot of the last few books. John should’ve died. Five should’ve stayed dead. There are too many inconsistencies. How can Lorien teenagers tear through Mogs like it’s piece of cake when adult warriors failed miserably which caused a whole PLANET to be forever unsurvivable? The author finally decided that he can't stretch this any longer. This is the last book, and instead of preparing for the final battle, they keep bulshitting each other, because obviously they had nothing better to do with their time. The plot is the identical like in the previous volumes - long and predictable. There is an attempt at the bittersweet ending, but all I had was a feeling like I’m gonna get diabetes. The ending is unexciting ,the writing style is plain and boring. The final battle was too easily won and anticlimactic when we consider having a build up of six books to reach the goal. From the book 4 this series only went downwards. But in book 5 I lost my patience, even though the book had some bright moments. The book 6 was the lowest point and I realised I only feel anger and deep boredom for this series. This book was not much better than the book 6. The pace was off. The apocalypse that was expected from the book 1 never came. Just a long and depressing wrap up of the series. This has been a hard series to get through simply because it's seven books that realistically could’ve been three or four. All characters are annoying. The new characters didn't play any role and were a complete waste of paper.I had no idea why the human Garde were introduced if they literally had no purpose. By the end, some characters are happy and living their potential, while others’ future are foggy. All of the important characters survived which is completely unrealistic. I guess I semi-liked Nine, Six and Adam, because they were the only rational people who had the guts to do what has to be done, but they were still stereotypical and didn’t evolve one bit from the first time they appeared. The last book didn't connect the reader to the characters and there was nothing to deepen the story or relationships. It was basically a marathon to finally see whether or not they will defeat the Mogs and if anyone will die. Half of the characters simply follows John as he saves the day. Moreover, author learned nothing from the previous volumes since he repeats his old mistakes over and over again. I still didn’t know for a few pages who's POV it has been told from, and I’m so done with it, that I don’t even bother to be upset. Numerous times I began reading a chapter with Four visualised in my head, only to realise a few pages later that I should’ve been picturing Six all along. By the way, why is Sam still there? I much preferred this harsher version of John than the whiny brat he's been in the previous books. He almost reminded me of the good lad I really liked in the book 1. It seems that finally he found a maturing path, but it’s still quite obvious he doesn’t have what it takes to be an effective leader. Until the day I die, I will be persistent in my belief that John is the one of the worst protagonist and heroes ever. Six and Nine went from being two most interesting characters in the earlier books to being Four's cheering squad. I don’t know if it was author’s intention to completely ruin Six’s personality in order for her to become boring like the others, but I’m completely amazed how female voice sounds identical as male.

This book definitely ended the series with the bang I was hoping for! The rest of the series was so action packed and for this book, it felt like all that action was jam packed together for one hell of a finale! I think my favourite part of this book was seeing how far this series has come since the beginning! This final book takes a much darker turn, so much so that it makes you doubt that any of the characters will get a happy ending other than Setrakus Ra. It's intense and gritty and I loved every single second of it! There's also some devastating losses that deeply affect our main characters and drastically change them. Mainly John aka Four, he's become permanently damaged and becomes willing to do anything it takes to win the war, no matter the cost and it's almost sad to see him suffer so much! And then we get to the absolutely perfect and stunning ending! I'm not going to lie I definitely shed a few tears, both happy and sad! I've become so invested in this series and these characters after 7 books and it was definitely bittersweet to have it all come to an end.

No voy a mentir. Definitivamente derrame algunas lágrimas, ¡felices y tristes! Me he involucrado tanto en esta saga y en estos personajes después de 7 libros y fue definitivamente agridulce que todo haya llegado a su fin.

Great book. Dark, Intense and Awsome. Every book in this series seem to be improved slightly on the last. I love the character development in the series. There were points in the first couple of book I was thinking to myself about John/4 will you please grow a pair and stop acting like a love sick teenager. Of course this probobly not fair as he actually was a love sick teenager, and had not quite grown into his heroic role as yet. I am actually glad that the books were done this way it made me appricate the latter book more.In this book the nitration is shared by John/4 and Six. Six has always been the tough warrior compared to Fours more compassionate personality, and she also had an edge in battle as she competent using her powers/legacies. Now John is more battle hardened and with Pittacus Lore's ability to mimic powers/legacies, making not only a one man army, but also possibly the most powerful person on the planet. With possibly the exception of Setrakus Ra. Who is also a genius who has been planning with how to deal with Grades and Legacy wealders for centuries.Another great thing about this book even though Four and Six are definitely the main characters every character has a role to play and no matter how big or small it is it is essential. This is a great finale to the series. I like to think of it as more of an ending to the current story arc, and would love more book on the brave new world the Earth infused with Loric energy has become. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part but I would love more books. Everything about this book is great, the character development, the action, even the pace is right for every moment of the book. Every time I read a few pagers I wanted to read more.

ugh another series come to an end :(Really loved this final book in the series! It was a tad slow at the beginning setting everything up but it pays off in the end. Really kept me on the edge of my seat near the last parts of the book, and I feel like I'm satisfied with how the series ended. It's sad to say goodbye to such an amazing series, with all the action and the awesome cast of characters :( Wouldn't mind a spin off series though......

This book made me almost cry so many times! But it also made me really angry. Still, I'm satisfied with that ending and I think I'll go read all of the lost files and then generation one. I still wonder why the author calls themself Pittacus Lore, cause technically that was John so did John write these books? Is that how I am supposed to interpret that?? I DONT KNOW

I've stuck with this series since it was justI Am Number Fourthat was out and it's a little surreal that it's over now. I very much enjoyed this book but I'm a little underwhelmed with some of the results. Not that I wanted more death or destruction, but it just felt like we were cheated a bit with that whole climax. Some things were left unresolved and others weren't handled as I thought they should be and that's why this gets 4/5 and not that solid 5. I'm super sad that the series is over though, this was an amazing series overall.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series! I cannot believe it took me this long to start reading this series. This is a fast paced series with very well written characters that readers can really enjoy liking (well, other than the bad guys lol). The good part of waiting so long to start reading this series is I was able to read it from start to finish quickly so cliff hangers did not bother me! :)

WHAT AN EPIC CONCLUSION!!!! I CAN'T EVEN RIGHT NOW._____________I’m going to begin with a mini review of United as One, the conclusion to the series, then review the series as a whole. Scroll down for a spoiler free review of the entire series.United as One has the unfortunate task of concluding this epic series. It has to wrap up all the story lines and give readers the satisfying ending they’ve been pinning for for years. I think it does all that and more. United as One picks up after the events of the previous book, John dealing with Sarah’s death. He’s broken and feels lost, but decides to channel his aggression and frustration into ending Setrákus Ra. As expected, this book focuses heavily on John. Most of the chapters are told from his perspective, but Six and Marina’s chapters are also featured. John is no longer the same character he was in the previous book. He’s a certified badass willing to anything and everything to defeat his enemy. His chapters scared me at some points because I feared for his survival. The ending was explosive and epic. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the ultimate conclusion. It kept me on the edge of my seat reading until the last page. I felt like the ending could have used one more chapter, but that didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. Overall, I’m pleased to say United as One is an epic conclusion to this series and well worth the wait. I thought it was action packed while still being able to slow down the pace without it feeling boring.SPOILER FREE REVIEW OF THE LORiEN LEGACIES…. 4.5 STARS.The Lorien Legacies is the epic story about a race of teenage aliens hidden on earth. Each of these teenagers have special abilities that will help them in the future to defeat a looming threat. The first book, I am Number Four, is definitely the weakest book of the series (and don’t get me started on the movie). The reader is introduced to number Four, John, and watches him struggle with wanting to be a normal teenager and the looming threat that dictates his life. This book feels very much like a typical Young Adult book with the ever-present looming threat with a romance thrown in the mix. The real meat of the story doesn’t fully emerge until the second and third books, The Power of Six and The Rise of Nine. Because of this slow start to the story, I know a lot of readers stopped reading so I would encourage those who stopped to finish the series. It is well worth your time. The character in the series are interesting and made me want to know more about their back stories with each book. However, with so many characters in play only the main characters are fully fleshed out. John and Sam are the characters who undergo the most character development. The characters they are at the beginning of the story are not the ones at the ending.I wanted to include Six in the characters who are fully fleshed out, but the more I thought about her the more I realized she didn’t undergo any massive changes. She’s still very much the same generic badass female at the end of the story that she was when she was first introduced.Without going into spoilers, the other characters are given enough depth for the reader to care about them but little else. The action in this series is second to none. It’s chaotic and confusing, but easy to follow. It’s action that keeps you on the edge of your seat because the reader is able to follow each moment with clarity and the reason for this clarity is the writing style. Pittacus Lore’s writing is precise and clear in its meaning. It’s not overly poetic or flowery because it’s direct. Lore understands his audience and caters to them.Overall, The Lorien Legacies is an absolutely amazing and action packed series that will please just about any reader. If you’re looking for an easy quick read that’s jam packed with exciting and intense moments, look no further because this series will blow your socks off!

Okay, so about 5 new characters were introduced just so 3 of them could be killed off for literally no reason. What? That was my main problem reading the book. And the whole romance between Marina and John? Why did they think that was a good idea? I might've been able to get behind it but they had no development in the book and she kisses him after a year of not talking to each other. Why.Overall I'm pretty much just happy Sam and Six got together, even though we don't get any closure or reunion between him and John or and closure between John and Six. Sigh. So, while I have a lot more to say about the ending, this is probably my favorite Lorien Legacies book (apart from Revenge of Seven). I might post an actual review later, I might not, who knows? Honestly, I'm still crying so I should probably go now. Bye. Have fun reading.

Actual rating: 4.5I loved this book. The ending was so satisfying. So bloody satisfying. I guess 7 books was a stretch as we all know, big things always happen towards the end. Regardless, I loved this book and I am so happy I stuck till the end for this book. I am sad that I will not get to read about John or the garde anymore. So sad, indeed.

I still feel the book should have ended a book or two ago, but this was quite a ride. I couldn't put it down. It was very fast paced. It has a great ending to go with a well done series. I know there is a new series starting from this ending and I won't be going on with it. I feel content and complete with where things stand now.I did enjoy how the killed Setrakis Ra - well done. The end is very Arthurian Legend type of ending.Several people don't make it and several people do make it. Lore is really going for the gut wrenching here. The characters have all become hard at this point. I guess this is how it goes in war.I'm glad I finished this series.

"Sydney gets it the worst. ... Images of the opera house in flames, the bridge behind it collapsing..."Finally, a U.S.-centric sci-fi/alien invasion book that acknowledges the existence of Australia and the likelihood that at least Sydney will be attacked! But I'm a little biased, so let's move on.Sometimes with series, the quality of the books declines as the series progresses. I am very pleased to say that, in my opinion, this is not the case here. The authors kept with their usual style, which has worked so well before, so why change it? The book is action-packed, the perspective changes with each chapter so you are kept on your toes, and often the chapter ends on a mini cliffhanger, so you are left wondering what happened to some characters while reading about what happens to others.I found its representation of war quite realistic. Stuff happens that you can't control, and it would be quite unrealistic for everyone to survive unscathed. And of course everyone will have different reactions to said events, which was well shown. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book (I finished it way too late for how tired I was feeling), and felt that it ended the series well. Thank you to the authors for letting me have this literary over the past six years.
