This is one of my favorite romantic mangas!! Shigematsu sensei has created another amazing set of characters that I love as much as those in Tenshi Ja Nai.

I like this plot, even if it's cliched. I like what I'm reading, but right now Yuzu is pissing me off with her gullible act. Hopefully by the end of the fifth chatper (which i'm reading right at this moment) she does something that will make me like her! Got my hopes up! Crossing all my fingers with all my might -

It's a little bit confusing, but it's got lots of action and a lot of shady characters hard to know who to trust can't trust anyone, the only thing is that the drawings at very similar and the chapters look the same and I have a hard time telling them apart. But very good manga.

Synopsis:Yuzu was afraid she'd be completely on her own after her mother died. However, a sudden meeting with her long-lost grandmother reveals her status as heiress to a wealthy estate... but Yuzu isn't at all sure she wants anything to do with it!My Thoughts:When we meet Yuzu, she's been evicted not long after her mother has died. She tries to make it on her own, but when she goes to a park to sleep for the night, she's found right away and brought to the home of the grandmother she's never met. Yuzu wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm pretty sure she wasn't expecting her grandmother to live in a house that looks like a castle. Or to be told that she's being made heir to the Shirayaki Group and set to take over the company and inherit a fortune. Yuzu, though, is just a regular girl and she doesn't want any of it. Especially when her grandmother only seems to bad mouth her mother. The same goes for the head of security, Hassaku Kagami. When Yuzu makes her debut to the family, she soon discovers that no one really cares for who she is, they just want her out of the way because they want to be appointed heir. One such family makes the mistake of getting on Yuzu's bad side and gets told off royally. I'd totally forgotten about that and how much it made me like Yuzu. Her life gets even more hectic once she's transferred to a new school and put in a class with the elite students. Yuzu thinks for herself though and since she's found a friend that she knew before her life got flipped all around, she's determined to stay friends with her even if she isn't one of the other elite students. It isn't long before Yuzu sees that school isn't all that safe. She already found out the hard way that being outside without bodyguards tends to go badly for her, but there are people willing to kidnap or kill her over money and power! She doesn't want to become jaded so she won't go around distrusting everyone, no matter how many people tell her she should.I've read this series once before, so I'm happy to see Yuzu and Kagami from the beginning again. I'd forgotten that Kagami implied that he knew her before all of this happened, but that Yuzu doesn't seem to remember him. I'm looking forward to getting familiar with these characters again.

A pretty fun read. The story is a premise I've actually encountered a few times in manga. Teenager Yuzu is orphaned when her mother dies, and sadly she doesn't have enough money to support herself. While she's sleeping in a public park, a well-dressed man arrives and tells her he's come to take her to her estranged grandmother...who just happens to be extremely wealthy and head of a major conglomerate. Of course, the grandmother is also extremely cold towards Yuzu and VERY controlling. She immediately decides to put Yuzu in the running to be her official heir and demands that various staff train her to be a proper lady and successor (with no thought towards Yuzu's feelings, emotional needs, etc.). It appears that Yuzu is truly alone in a sea of people who are only concerned with doing her grandmother's bidding, and her life is threatened by jealous wannabes time and again, but she may have some allies in the mix. What makes this manga a standout is the depth of Yuzu's character and her spirit in the face of miserable circumstances. I'll read this one as far along as it will take's another Go! Comi comic, so I can only go as far as the published volumes :(

This manga is another in the "suddenly I'm rich" genre. This time around, a girl named Yuzu's mother passes away and gets roped in by her grandmother to be a candidate for heir, but Yuzu has other ideas.I'm not sure why, but I was expecting another quiet, push over orphan character like Tohru from Fruits Basket, but what I got instead was a spunky girl who can and will kick kidnappers in the crotch. It's like if Tohru grew up to be just like her mother, and I find that to be a hoot. This isn't a royalty training montage, which was good. Instead, it's more about her just trying to live life without the whole "rich" thing getting in her way. Is it a little overly dramatic at times? Definitely. But to have a pretty competent main character makes for a good read.

This is unlike most shoujo available. The heroine is a high school student who discovers that she is heir to a really powerful company and her grandmother expects her to marry someone significant, etc. The crazy part in this, is Yuzu is actually pretty interesting and hardworking and she falls in love with her grandmother's boytoy, aka. Kagami, Yuzu's bodyguard. COnfusing, yea, its a little off the normal track, but entertaining because it is a novel concept. The art is mediocre, which is unfortunate because its neatly done, but some positions just look off. The story is slow, but its still intriguing. For those who have read Tenshi Ja Nai!, this is not as good, but it satisfies the shoujo/josei cravings.

Yuzu is one of the gutsiest girls in manga. I loved her from the moment I found out she was determined to take care of herself by living in a playground after her mother's death. Dragged away from her delusion that a slide was better than a shower by a slighty older, emotionally withdrawn megane, Yuzu found herself thrown into the shark-infested world of high society. Her grandmother is a filthy rich corporate mogul and wants to see her feisty, clutzy, mannerless grandchild become the same. The only thing that Yuzu has to help her survive this crazy turn of events is her mother's hilarious rules of survival, and the cold-hearted megane who dragged her into this situation in the first place.

This is a new series from Go comi of the created of Tenshi Ja Nai. If you loved Tenshi Ja Nai you will also love this. This is a story about a girl whose Mom passed away and she didn't know she had anyone left in her family. Out of the blue her Grandmother shows up who looks young and is rich. She tells her she is going to be in the running to be the heir. Of course this girl is a Klutz and is used to simple things. It seems most of her Grandmother's staff is all young men. One of these young men is assigned to helping her become more refined. I am looking forward to reading more of this story the guy assigned to her I can't figure out.

2.5 stars. I can't decide if I like this or not. I was looking for something like Hana Yori Dango and this sounded similar. Other than a general theme of poor girl in a rich world, it's not, really. I'll keep reading a few more volumes to see if my enjoyment increases.

It's rare that I can't find a manga that I didn't like. Flat characters and a boring storyline make this book unappealing. The best thing I can say about this book is that it runs the regular manga length of under 200 pages.
