It's clichéd, yes and a little predictable but it's an easy read and fun nonetheless. The protag. has some bite and her relationship with the hot boy-next-door is interesting enough to keep you turning the pages. Plus there's the drama teacher with his cat, the perfectly bitchy big sister and a god-awful high school play - you don't have to think too much with this book, just go for the ride.

Sixteen year old Kate Reynolds has a problem: her life completely sucks. Her mother has recently lost her job and has now resorted to bus driving. Her best friend is a midget and the hottest junior in school lives right next door (Kate hates him). And to top it all off, her sister Erica is PERFECT and has recently gotten the lead role in the school play. But then Erica suddenly gets sick and Kate has to fill in for her. Can Kate cope with all of this? It might take the help of the guy she meets in New York City...16 Reasons Why My Life Sucksis one word: HILARIOUS. I enjoyed itwaaaaymore than I'd expected, but if I really want to do this book justice, a 2-star rating should be efficient. But this book is too good for a 2-star rating. So 3 is good enough (: . This book (ebook?) had me ROFL-ing since chapter one. It really isn't the best book out there, and it has its fair share of typos and incoherent whirlwinds, but the hilarity of it all made up for it. Kate Reynolds is a hilarious, sassy, sarcastic witch, period. In another book, I would'veHATEDanyone like her, but to my surprise, she was too easy to like. I could relate to her so easily 'cause I've had my experiences with annoying sisters, annoying jerks, and failing a subject (in my case, physics and probably history). Matt is adorable. If he were real, I'd constantly hug him. He is such a silly jerkheaded butthole. And sweet. And adorable. And is it wrong to say that I want him 'cause he's a jerk? The problem is, I have NO problem with jerks (as long as they don't cross the limit and are just as adorable as they are stupid). The rest of the characters are ok, though, not as exciting as Matt and Kate. They add to the plot, and without them, I guess some of the funniness would dissolve. Thank GOD there is an actual plot. The problem is the typos, the annoying excessive use of exclamation marks, and the confusion in the chronological events. That is the reason why I gave this 3 stars. If the author perfected her grammatical mistakes and avoided all the confusion with the storyline, it would've received a 4 or, at most, 4.5 from me. What I didn't really like was the excessive use of "WHATEVER!" and "UGH!" and "MY LIFE SUCKS!" Moreover, I didn't understand why her "life officially sucks" at the end of the story. So to wrap it all up nicely: the story is hilarious, the characters are likeable, there is an ACTUALmachomale lead, there is a plot to actually call a plot and the story kept me interested.

When you're feeling depressed and feel like nothing will ever work out to you, that's when you read 16 reasons why my life sucks. There are several prons and cons to take into account for this book, I'll start with the good ones then.Kate believes her life is one the of the worst ever. This is not surprise since she is a sixteen year old girl, most of them believe that. Of course her reasons are futile, but aren't them all? I think the (only?) good thing about this book is how you can relate to Kate. She's moody, sarcastic, and even though she doesn't accept it, desperate for attention. As most girls are. So yeah, I think the believable side of the book ends there. The plot is basically a story we all know from somewhere: Teenage girl who is an outcast. Teenage girl who hates her neighbor. Teenage girl who hates her sister for being so perfect. School play is being made. Sister and neighbor (love interesent of course) get the main roles. Sister asks teenage girl to help her with her lines. Sister gets sick the day of the show. Teenage girls knows every line. Teenage girl is forced to do the acting (forced is just a word since deep down she did wanted the role). Teenage girl goes from hating neighbor to loving neighbor. Teenage girl falls in love and realizes life isn't THAT bad. So you get my point, the plot is basic and predictable. After reading the first page I could tell how it was going to end. Two stars for keeping me entertained, at the very least.

Maybe it was just the ebook I read, but the punctuation seemed to get a little out of hand. Did there really need to be a huge slew of exclamation points at the end of sentences? This book is about high schoolers, not middle schoolers. Being a high schooler myself, I do not type, or think for that matter, like that.Anyway, on to the book. It was way too predictable. I knew from the first time Matt was introduced, she would somehow end up with him. I knew that Aaron would end up being a jerk and doing something that would make Kate start thinking about Matt. I knew that her mom would end up with somebody and would get pregnant. I knew that Erica would end up being a nicer sister. I want a book with more detail and thought put in it. I almost felt like I was reading a bad fan-fiction story. Also, what's with authors putting out books about girls that think the same way? 'I do what I want and no one will change that.' In the end, they change. Always. So why did I keep reading until I finished? Same reason I read every horrible book. I can never leave it unfinished or I would go crazy.

This is my first non children book that I've read. Yes it's bad. It has some typos, a very cliche plot and boring characters. But as this is my first teen book that I've read I don't have the heart to say anything bad about it. So to start with the storyline it was good. The events of the book were written in easy English and understandable vocabulary. The characters weren't the best nor the worst they were OK. Kate was your average insecure teen with a bossy sister. The sister was the person who made the story going if it weren't for her half of the events wouldn't exist. Matt was the boy who always had a crush on Kate and would do anything for her but as Kate is the dense one here she didn't figure out or if she knew she didn't care. Overall: this book is cute. The ending; was cheesy and cute. The cover; is depressing.

In the story, Kate gave reasons why her life sucks. A great amount or chunk of the story is spent on the building up of Kate and Matt's relationship. I enjoyed reading about the two of them. You see, Kate seems always angry at Matt -- a childhood friend who's popular at school. Whenever the two of them meet, she's always snarling at the poor boy. Then, unexpectedly, Kate gets starred at a school play and she's got to spend time with Matt.Matt was the character I liked best in the story. Well, there really was nothing unpredictable in the story since you can pretty much know what will happen but still, it was nice reading about Matt's subtle jealous antics and stuff.

16 reason why my life sucks is my first novel of author Sara walker and may be it will be the last also.its not a bad novel and i would recommend it for light read. But having said that you are not gonna miss anything if you give this book a skip. Story line is too predictable and characters are not fully developed. Apart from lead roles Kate and Matt other characters are there for show only. Due to which one cannot relate to them. All in all its just another same teenage love hate relationship kind of novel.

If you want a story that would make you go frisson – a kiddie-like frisson that is – then 16 Reasons Why My Life Sucks is the book for you.. although, for me, the story didn't exceed my expectations. Also, the twist has made a little impact on the story so that it was easy for me to almost predict what would happen next. Moral lesson: Look around you. There are many positive things in life that happens everyday. You just have to pay attention. Even to the smallest detail.

well this was a fast read but there were a decent ammount of typo's. best quote from the book When you guys are gone I plan on throwing a hugekegger party, strip naked and streak down the street and then pass out in frontof a 7-11 allowing for the strange homeless guy to rape me and force me tojoin a suicidal cult. Please.i will atleast give the book that the extreme levels of angst were atleast hummerous.

I love this book because i love Kate she reminds me so much of my good friend in high school who claimed to hate everything had a sarcastic comment about just about anything but still lovable. Kate might complain about everything but she knew who she was and didn't lie to herself and while she complained she always helped out. God i love her for her outspokeness,(is that a word?), and her self awareness.

I'd give it a 4 if there weren't so many typographical errors. Kind of predictable, in a cutesy sort of way. Having grown up in upstate NY, a lot of things were familiar to me.

Gobsmacked. How on Earth did this get published? So many typographical and GRAMMAR errors. I found the dialogue hilarious at times, but it just wasn't enough to redeem this teen-y, clichéd story.
