This isn't the best biography ever written, but the subject matter is staggering... I'd known about the My Lai massacre for years, but I never knew there was a hero, someone that put his life on the line to protect the innocent. As appalling as the massacre was, the cover-up and the travesty of justice that followed is chilling. These two lessons, the massacre and the cover-up, are embarrassing parts of history that should be published far and wide to avoid this ever happening again. Hugh Thompson should be a household name, a soldier studied in high school, as there are lessons here that should be passed to the next generation. The world needs more people like Hugh Thompson.

Important story about the one hero at My Lai. The late Hugh Thompson is an American in the best sense of the word.

Very interesting true story of a soldier from Lafayette, LA. If you know anything about the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam or if you just like reading about things like that, you should read this book. Mr. Thompson actually passed away about 5 years ago in Lafayette.

Really touching to see how those three soldiers helped saved some of the villagers.
